Fuck Harrys bar by the way, you didnt miss anything. I just walked my happy ass half way accross the island only to get kicked out because I was wearing shorts. The weather is pure ball soup also.

There were a bunch of snooty richies who got a big kick out of my attempt also. They did offer to give me some "house" pants but I dont need anyone elses ball soup and was turned off by the attitude of the spot in general. It looked nice though.not surprising. I'm pretty sure a drink costs around $30 there too. I didn't go in because it just seemed pretty intimidating, but then again a lot of churches won't even let you inside wearing shorts.
Get some talcum powder. Really good for that humid fucking shit.
You were right on with this one also. Buerno was awesome, Muerno was meh. Also I talked with my aunt and it was my familys tomb on the cemetary island. Fucking cool shit to stumble on that.Probably a bunch of repeats, but I haven't been back to venice since then so its mainly the same advice. I had a few bad meals there, the main area is super touristy with crappy shit. You really need to use tripadvisor and find restaurants although its hard to navigate if you don't have GPS on your phone
Definitely go to Burano. Great photography (brightly colored houses), walking and there's an old restaurant there called "Da Romano" where Hemmingway would eat at. I got a few embroidered handkerchiefs with my initials on it, which are the local speciality.
Apparently its the only place allowed in those islands to have wood burning oven. The "Go Rissotto" was great, it was on Anthony Bourdain so that's how I knew of it. Also try the little baby octopus and stay away from anywhere with a menu turistico.
I wasn't too big on Murano to be honest, really over commercialized or just kind of boring.
I think I said this, just get lost in the part of Venice for a few hours. Go around the little back alleys, nooks and crannies and go to the little shops and hang out. The cemetary island looked trippy, but too freaked to go out there. actually not enough time.
Barcelona is the shit, I could spend a month here easily. Love the city vibe, food, beaches, boobs and pretty much everything else. Boqueria was crazy also! Barcelona has been a great chill stop towards the end of the trip to recharge. Especially after the heat wave in Rome, and all the walking and sights we did there. This might end up being our favorite stop.Yeah, its not really the best Farmer's Market, the Boqueria in Barcelona blows it out of the water as does Campo Del Fiori in Rome. Its just a cool local vibe and some strange fish out there. All I bought were some strawberries. The walk to the other side of the Rialto Bridge was pretty cool, had some cool sun dials and stuff like that out there.
If it were me, I'd subtract one day in Florence/Tuscany and then instead of Naples, hop on EasyJet to Barcelona (its like an hour flight or a little longer and pretty cheap) and just chill on the beach for a few days. You're going to be doing a lot of historical sightseeing, eating pasta and walking around stone steps. I'd cap off the trip in a nice sunny beach area like Barcelona where you can just decompress and do nothing for a few days. Take siestas in the afternoon, you'll need a break from the hyper agressive Italians who are always shouting and shit. Spaniards are chill and live life at a much slower pace. You can also take a ferry, but that takes like 8 hours vs like a 2 hour flight.
Lol yea you get 90% of the credit on that one. Your suggestion was what made me suggest it to my girl and after I did it was a must visit for her so I had to work it in. Really glad I did.See. haha.
Yeah, I plan to go back at least every 5 years until Sagrada Familia is finished just to record and see the process.

It's crazy how much has been built in the last 10 years. When I lived there in 2005 I swear they were doing nothing to it. In the 2 times since then entire spires have been built. It's funny how much whiter the new segments are. They may actually finish it one day.
There's a pretty nice Netflix documentary on it called Sagrada. I read with 3D printing and the really large influx of tourism, its gonna be crazy. Pretty nuts when they need to start evicting people out of the buildings to demolish them around Sagrada and the legal battles to ensue.
Wait, what's the plan? I lived a couple of blocks from there. I can't see why they'd need to demolish the buildings around it just to accommodate more tourists. There's only so many people that would fit in there (even with all the towers being built).
