Interesting. The idea of a massive digital library is intriguing, but I also am concerned that it is the property of one single company.

I find it extremely handy to be able to search reference books with the computer rather than finger my way though the well worn pages.
My old copy of the "Woodworkers handbook" has been more or less replace in use by the digital version on my computer. It has all the engineering data I need in working with every species of wood. The book was published by the Dept. of Agriculture about 75 years ago. Digitized about 10 years ago.
A lot of books I would like to see that happen too, perhaps it has been done!

I still like my books paper. Even though they weigh a ton collectively and take up loads of space. It's much easier on the eyes, and I can track much better.

You should see my cookbooks. You could probably biol them and get something tasty with all the spatters, my Cake Bible is in three pieces, but they have all my annotations in them. Can't write on a screen and comment function just not the same.
