A 17-year-old boy is facing sexual assault charges after allegedly raping a 39-year-old woman during a Washington County-supervised trip to a University of Oregon football game, authorities say.

Jaime Tinoco was with 11 other children being supervised by four Juvenile Department staff members during the Saturday trip to Autzen Stadium, said Washington County Juvenile Service Director Lynne Schroeder in a statement Tuesday. The teen separated from the group after the game and the county staff looked for him, then called Eugene police when they couldn't find him, according to Schroeder.

Eugene officers later found the 39-year-old woman apparently beaten and sexually assaulted near Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Scout Access Road, police said. The woman reported not knowing the person who attacked her.

Investigators searched the area with police dogs and soon found Tinoco, who matched the victim's description of the alleged attacker, police said. He was soon arrested and the woman was taken to an area hospital for treatment.

Tinoco was sentenced to supervised probation in Washington County on July 28 following a conviction for burglary, unlawful possession of methamphetamine and harassment, according to Schroeder. The trip was "part of a program that helps youth develop life skills and positive goals through pro-social activities."

Tinoco was arraigned in Lane County Circuit Court Monday on charges of first-degree kidnapping, first-degree sexual abuse, first-degree rape and second-degree assault, court records show. He is next scheduled to appear in court for a hearing on Sept. 22.

Schroeder said an administrative review of the incident is pending and released no further information citing the ongoing criminal investigation.

Some people in Washington County need to be fired.

Who the hell thought that was a good idea?

Wanna go to a duck game? Don't be locked up for committing crime.

Nothing good ever happens on streets named Martin Luther King Boulevard.

Are "life skills" the new "aspiring rapper" for the youths?

Is a major college football game (a bunch of drunk and belligerent idiots) the best place for kids that have already fucked up?

Geez! That article was insufferable liberal speak.

Could you give an example? I'm asking seriously. Maybe I'm too much of a liberal but the article seemed to be simply a recitation of the facts of the case with no editorial viewpoint whatsoever.

The only thing I could pick out was calling him a 'boy' rather than a 'youth' or 'teenager' or something.

Well let's see. We have a miscreant of 17 in jail and needing "Life Skills". What the fuck? You let him loose for a moment and he rapes a women. Then you can still call him a "Boy"!
My goodness, a cop will have to shot the fucker before anyone gets the picture.

My guess is, he is another example of a feral child homo sapien that will never make it to human being.

Anyone under the age of 18 is always called a boy or girl by a newspaper. That's just part of the style guide, iirc. The life skills part was a pull-quote from the program's literature.

Literacy is not as common as I once thought.

"Youth" is usually a media codeword for black teens.

Ah another example of liberal speak.

Well, that isn't the reporting. That's a quote.

I've been driving though West Linn trying to find one for the last 3 hours.

Still nothing.

They usually name it in a seedy area of town in an effort to use the renaming as part of a revitalization project. In other words your street in 5-10 years.

remember, facts have a liberal bias to them. And scared old people are scared easily.

After the Rippys are over I'm going to create a program to develop the life skills of many of our forum members.
