the knicks get jc and jw for Moochie , Mutombo , Cash 2morrow it will be official but the knicks and bulls have made a deal now all we need is walker n daimper
Okay... would I be right in assuming Allan Houston will still be starting...
if so, Jamal Crawford will be playing back-up 2 guard right?... since Isiah would like Frank Williams to be playing back-up pg...
so where is Penny at (in my opinion still not being utilised enough!) is he going to be back-up SF... or is that Dermarr (if signed)... and where is Jerome Williams in this rotation?
I have dissed this trade all week do to the knicks going so hard after crawford a guy who shoots under 40%. Does I was thinking how would he co-exist with the likes of marbury and houston in the back court. I only like this trade now because this was more than a steal for them this was a rape by getting jerome williams as well as JC.
I dont like JC's style do to him taking to many bad shots, but JW is probable one of my favorite players in the nba when it comes to providing a spark for a team off the bench. He will probaby get you 10 and 8 every night having a guy like that off your bench is great for your team.
Now comes the part I want to know about. Who will start marbury and houston or marbury and JC. I am really hoping Houston starts he has been the face of the knicks for so long now. Not to mention he has one of the top free throw percentages in the league and is a very good shooter. He also is less selfish with the ball than JC so would be more of a fit with marbury. Unless they move houston to the three and tim thomas to the bench I am really hoping they trade tim thomas now he is not that great a player and would provide rotation problems if moved to the bench as well as a bad attitude.
With this trade it becomes even more unlikely that they will perssue vince carter as they will already have issues over who starts in the back court. If they do perssue vince though he will play the three for them if thats a big if they aquire him. Again signaling the end of tim thomas' stay in new york. Another reason I believe that houston should start. Look at the money he is earning are you gona pay that type of money for a player to come of your bench. If he doesnt start I look for him to be traded before the deadline do to him being a very probable starter on another team so he can earn the money he is making.
sorry to ruin the festivities but Small glitch in this deal.......crawfords advisors rejected the deal that would get him 7 years 55 mill, my thaughts are that Aaron Goodwin wanted a 6 year deal that would see him getting more money frontloaded rather than the extra year money would have been spread around.
no crawford tomarrow but my believe is that he will be a knick in the next week or so after this contract glitch is done with.
Verdict-Knicks win big. They get a hustle player who is not much on the offensive end, but will give you 100% effort and 10 rebounds every game, if you start him. He is also great for energy off the bench. Crawford could start off being the sixth man backing up both backcourt spots, and push Penny Hardaway to the backup small forward full time. All in all, we're looking at a Knicks team that suddenly has lots of depth at all five positions and a threat to win their division and contend for a top 3 finish in the East.
its not official yet, but man, yall robbed Chicago on this one once this deal goes thru...JC and JW will both see major minutes and are great pieces, plus u get rid of two wastes like Mutombo and Norris...nice deal...
Hey, once upon a time Mutumbo was a defensive monster. I hate it when people diss older players just because they are not in their prime. Yes Mutumbo is done. The guy should retire, but I wont ever call a player with his abilities a Waste.........

After almost five weeks of on-and-off haggling, Jamal Crawford's finally headed to New York.
The Knicks and Bulls announced a deal Thursday afternoon that sends Crawford, a combo guard, and forward Jerome Williams to New York in exchange for four players in the final year of their contracts -- center Dikembe Mutombo, forward Othella Harrington, guard Frank Williams and center Cezary Trybanski.
As Crawford was a restricted free agent, the Bulls actually had to sign him to a new deal -- with several reports placing it in the seven-year, $56 million range -- before sending him to the Knicks. For the Bulls, the key to the deal was the financial flexibility they received by obtaining a number of expiring contracts.</div>

Thank G-d it's done with.
The only really bad part is that we lose Frank Williams and he'd be great to fill in the little cracks on offense beteen H20 and Crawford and Crawford and Marbury.
Damn. If only the Knicks get Dampier now. They'll be conference title contenders with a big man in the middle capable of frustrating Shaq on both ends of the floor.
now that the knicks have crawford, and dampier is meeting with the knicks soon....is it possible for the knicks to pick up both carter and dampier? that would be a crazy team.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting TheNextGeneration:</div><div class="quote_post">Thank You....
Only Loss Is Frank Williams....
I Hope He Thinks Of Re-Signing With The Knicks After His Contract Expires...</div>
Doubt it we are LOADED with guards: Penny, Marbury, Moochie, Ariza, Anderson, and Houston. Not much room.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Trip:</div><div class="quote_post">Damn. If only the Knicks get Dampier now.</div>
Only The Knicks is me!
Anyways, back to the point. I love this deal. I agree that Frank Williams might be a great player one day and we might regret this but hey, so could Crawford. I'm behind Isiah all the way on this one even if Jamal breaks a leg and never plays again. I also think the next move had best be Vince Carter or Erick Dampier. We need a more intimidating line up.
Well what can I say? GO NY GO NY GO!
<font color="Blue">Isiah has definetly made his mark on this team. Our whole team has been overhauled except for Shandon Anderson & Kurt Thomas. People keep saying we are buring ourselves with contracts. We'll In this day & age how many teams have freed-up all this cap-space, gone out & signed players & won something. Orlando tried to that & what happened. So I'm tired of knick fans complaining about the salary cap. We got our man. If it wasn't done this way we probably never get him. JC is a balla. He will make this team better. With Houston's knees & Steph ballin in the olympics, we will need someone fresh who will carry us & this kid can carry a team. Kudos goes out Zeke for makin this happen. Now we need to make Dampier a knick & the final piece is in place to make a real run @ the Atlantic Division. If we get better on the defensive end we may even make a run @ the Eastern Conference Finals.</font>

And Michael Sweetney, and Allan Houston......gotta do your reasearch
this was a good trade i think, but you have to think waht happens to houston now? i think houston is going out of NY soon maybe to the nets if we are really luck :two_thumb
