It's Now A 10-Game "Trial" Period

If Andre's not running the break, then I can see how Nate would rather have this team hold it up. But it is frustrating with the athletes we have and the finishers we have that we can't run a bit more at the right time. It gets the crowd involved, it deflates the other team and it pumps up the players.
This is why I think starting Andre makes way more sense. They can run with Andre, Webster and Aldridge, with Oden anchoring the D and providing a post presence if they have to pull back up. Roy plays off the ball more or can iso if nothing is working. He usually starts slow anyways, and this way he can focus more on defense at the start of the game. Then when Blake comes in, we can go to Brandon and Outlaw and later Rudy can push the ball a little bit occasionally, with Blake being a trailer 3pt shooter.

How about that play where Travis Outlaw chased down the loose ball and dunked it?

Also, guess who had the least turnovers of anyone on the team? Travis. Only 1 turnover. Everyone else, EVERYONE else, had at least 2.

Bayless didn't have any turnovers. He's on the team. :)

Outlaw had a good game shooting the ball but he also was hesitant with his passing and the offense, predictably, bogged down when he touched it--he just looks like he doesn't know where he should be passing the ball or what he wants to do with it other than shooting. It's just good for us that he was hitting his jumper like he was.

Yeah, that run in the second quarter was tremendous and had Houston playing catch-up the rest of the game. Of course, you need stops to fast break and I think that's what Nate wants this team to focus on -- defense first, and then leak out if it's there.

Umm, I believe we held Houston to 37% from the field. Wouldn't that qualify as having gotten a few defensive stops? If Nate thinks that the team didn't play good defense in that game, then perhaps his expectations are even higher and more unrealistic than those held by members of this forum.
