It's Official Griffin to NJ

As of late Sunday night, Eddie Griffin has commited to playing for the Nets

This could be a good move for the struggling Nets, he's going back to where he was playing in college and hopefully he can turn his career around.

Good move. I don't think anyone should judge his act yet until he does start acting up on this Nets team. Gives him a fresh start in a new city, I don't think this is risky at all. I like Griffin, if he can perform and log in good minutes, this is a good move for a struggling Nets team.

Eddie Griffin..............The only reason everyone here is saying how cheap a find he is and crap like that is because he is a criminal. All of you have overlooked the fact that as a player, he is far from an all-star player. All he has is youth and shot-blocking ability. Eddie Griffin will never be good enough to average 10 points. His career average is only 8 points, 6 rebounds and 1.5 blocked shots, the fact that he averaged over 25 minutes notwithstanding. If I had a choice for contribution, not potential, I would rather take Mark or Corie Blount than a vastly underachieving 21 year-old who might punch a teammate again.

That right there says it all, he is only 21, He is still very young in the League, he has a lot of time to mature and i think he could easily average a double double if he was ever to start for the Nets.

In two seasons with the Rockets, all he was was a mediocre player. I don't see that getting any better with him having to play backup to KMart.

When did i say in that post they were falling apart? I didnt say that...And Jason Kidd already said that he did not want to move to Brooklyn, it looks like they will be the Brooklyn Nets.

Ohh i didnt understand your post...If they move, Kidd already said he wanted to be traded, Kmart i believe is a FA and without Kidd on the team, my guess is that he will leave the team also

Eddie's 2 year career average is 8.7 ppg.


Franchise3, do you ever look up stats before you post? Granted, this isn't as bad as when you said Wallace averaged 9 or 10 rpg last season, when he averaged 7.

Thats 1.3 ppg shy of 10 as a 2 year player. If he plays again, somehow I think he can average 10 ppg, because he is almost there asa 21 year old, 2nd year player. Thats not exactly a quantum leap.

And its a smart move on Griffin's part. Look at what Kidd has done for his teammates in Martin and Jefferson. They have benefited from playing alongside Kidd. Griffin made a smart choice. As did NJ. Griffin does have potential. NJ needs a second star alongside Kidd. Martin could develop into one, but Griffin could also. He was a lottery pick 2 years ago. He has talent and potential. Playing alongside Kidd should help.

Come on...they got an athletic big man for less than half a million! How cool is that? Besides, this is the guy that they drafted and traded to Jefferson, Collins and Armstrong...Now they have him again...If things didn't work out, it's not that big of a deal....It's a low-risk investment if you ask me...

Eddie Griffin is met with his lawyer and an ESPN reporter at 2:00 today CST.

We should know more shortly regarding when he will start playing again.

I have been thinking about the line-up now that they have Eddie Griffin pretty coming aboard.

Will they move Eddie to the C spot since they play in the centerless East or will Eddie come off the bench?

When they match-up against Eastern Confrence Teams I do not think a line-up of Griffin, Martin, Jefferson, Kittles, and Kidd will be bad at all. In fact that line-up right there might just give NJ the most athletic starting 5 in the league. :mrgreen:
