If we make a big playoff run, do we bring him off the bench in the WCF and Finals?

If he's had enough time to rehab and strengthen his knee, while keeping the rest of his body in shape, and IF we miraculously make it to the WCF and Finals, yea.

If he's not in shape, and it's the early rounds, no way.

its going to be fucking painful seeing him on the sidelines in a suit all year again, then every fucking announcer for the other team is yapping about bullshit.

I wonder how long it will take him to get cleared for 5on5 compared to his MF surgery. It took close to 12 months for that. And when he's able to just run as well and start getting back in shape.

This picture sums it all up.

Heads down or blank stares.

I feel bad for us as fans for having to listen to that bullshit again, but I feel even worse for GO. He doesn't deserve this.

Why is it always the good guys that have the worst luck?

Out everyone healthy on our team, why did Greg have to endure a season ender?

Why, wtf has Portland done to the Karma gods for this?

This latest injury has solidified my stance as an atheist.

Oden has a great attitude, and he will be back!

I'm still interested in comparing the timeline for this injury to his MF surgery. Like when he'll be able practice light drills, began running, cleared to play 5v5, etc.

No ligament damage.

Bone has to heal itself. That will take two months.

After so much inactivity, Oden will then experience muscle atrophy. That will take another two months of recovery.

Four months to heal. He'll have the summer to strengthen it.

Excellent news on that confirmation of no ligament or tendon damage. He'll probably do leg exercises and light workouts during the summer and ramp it up heading into camp.

A microfracture that was caused by nothing.

A broken patella that was caused by nothing.

Hopefully before he gets back on the court, a doctor figures out why.

Seeing him in person you notice just how much bigger his upper body is than his legs. He has very skinny legs compared to his upper body.

That looks like Ahmad Rashad in the crowd.

Dang, it sure does! I wonder if he went to the Civil War....then stayed in town for the weekend?

The Blazers GM confirmed that Oden's injury was a non-impact type that likely occurred because the quadrcieps muscle in Oden's leg is so strong that it put intense pressure on his patella.

Pritchard added that doctors do not believe there is a connection between a chipped patella Oden suffered on the same knee last season and his new injury.

Interesting.

So essentially Greg is so strong he snapped his own kneecap.

That's how Bo Jackson dislocated his hip.

It's great news that there was no ligament damage. I feel terrible for Greg and all the hard work he had put in. At least it won't take 2 years to fully recover from this like the MF surgery.

So he's basically out four months before he can return to getting back into basketball shape and doing drills and stuff? That's not too terrible.. not as bad as a whole year.

sounds like he will be fine for next year. but mentally who knows.

When asked about Greg Odens loss and his rehab and recovery KP said: "What comes back? I'm not sure."

So even KP is losing faith. He's not sure what Greg Oden comes back.

Really? This convinces me there is a god - and that he/she/it is a malign thug.

Yes it was Bobby Moore. I was at the Blazer game and they showed him on the Jumbo tron waving his damn U of O gear, I also assumed he was in town for the civil war.
