Collins is probably going to be better than Portzingis by himself.
Hopefully Phil Jackson agrees with you.

We are never going to sign a max player anyway. We'll need to trade for or draft that player. If we trade for that player it will be a player with some kind of baggage.Because CJ and Lillard with a dash of Nurk will never win a championship
That would have been a good trade (for us). We get much better defensively. He's a far better player than CJ. And I like CJ.
I wonder how many of you, if any, would have traded CJ for Jimmy Butler. Sure sounds like none of you would have been on board which is puzzling

How do you know that Olshey didn't make that offer?
I don't, and if he did, then kudos to him.
)Maybe the Bulls didn't want to tie up $50 million in cap space to two players at the same position.
I don't really understand the premise when it goes from trade cj because too much money tied up in our big 3, but then trade him for similar salary? How does that help our financial situation at all?

It MIGHT be - but we don't know yet. To trade him now because it MIGHT make us better isn't a good idea. Why don't we trade him IF it becomes apparent that a Dame/CJ back court CAN'T work. That puts us in the position to find out if what we ALREADY HAVE does/can work. CJ's value isn't going down anytime until he's in the final year of his contract, and even then it might not go down all that much.Just my opinion guys. Like I mentioned, I am very aware of how good he is. I think he's possibly our best player. But to take the TEAM to the next level, it might be necessary.
I'm disagreeing with the idea that salaries have anything to do with why we would trade CJ.So then what are you disagreeing with? Thats the sort of trade i'm advocating for (I guess you think that JB has some sort of baggage?)
I must morphing into a homer, because I don't think I would trade CJ and Collins for Porzingas. I used to think Porzingas was great. a lot of it based on how much NY seemed to value him. But then they wanted to trade him; what does that say? And then I looked at his stats; they are not that great.

If we can get a player better then CJ, yes. You trade him. The same goes for anybody else on the team.
Especially if we can bring in quality defenders with offensive game as well.
But if you think Collins can play at the 4, and will be a good defender, CJs defense might not be much of a liability.
If you think your guy is one of the top five young players in the league; I don't think you decide to trade him solely because he missed an exit interviewThe reasons Phil Jackson wants to trade Porzingis has nothing to do with his skill as a basketball player.
