Same here. I absolutely hate hot weather, and because I did so much camping in awful weather when I was a teen, my body is much more adapted to cold weather, which I prefer. For me personally, it's easier to warm my body up than it is to cool it down.

I have to admit though....this A/C I have has given me goosebumps today.

And the irony of not liking hot weather is that I would love to live in Arizona...preferably, the northern part of the State, where it's cooler than the southern half.

Another downside to hot weather.....spiders. Pretty much year-round, I have to deal with spiders in my apartment, but it gets WAY worse during the hotter months. Yesterday, I killed over 30 spider hatchlings on my ceiling, and I know that there are more on the loose. Last year, I spent an entire week killing them as I found them each day on the table next to my recliner.

In addition to that, the past two days I've killed 5 fully-grown spiders of the same species. And last week, I killed a large house spider on my door frame outside. That thing was HUGE. Thank God it didn't make it inside!

I would put out spider traps, but my cat would get into it. I'd leave to do something one day, and I'd come home only to find the trap stuck to her paw, and her looking miserable.

Damn dude, that's a lot of spiders.

Yeah, it's pretty bad. I'm sort of at the end of my rope with it, and I'm seriously considering contacting management about it. Although, knowing them, I may have to hire my own exterminator and go it alone.

And by the way....from that article, a fact which I've known about for some time:

That was probably not the best idea.
I went to Bandon with about 14 people that comprised of 4 generations of Pruners including my 94 year old grandpa and his 96 year old sister. It was great.

Having two scars (one over 1" in diameter) from spiders you can trust me on this.... Get some Bayer Advanced Home Pest Control in the blue one gallon container at Lowe's or Home Depot. This shit is NASTY. Spray all around your doors, windows, light fixtures, corners of the floors, and RUN FOR IT! (don't forget kitty). I've tried Ortho, and all those other ones. This stuff does the job for spiders around here. It'll do a number on you too, so make sure it's all aired out before you go back in....

Right now, I'm using Black Flag Ant and Roach Killer. It says that it is "Unscented", which is the reason why I bought it over the available cans of Raid (which all seems to have gone to some floral-smelly bullshit). However, it is anything but unscented. That Black Flag shit is downright toxic, and I've unwillingly breathed in my fair share of it.

I have a can of Raid as well, but it's "Country Fresh Scent". I absolutely hate air-freshener aerosols, which is why I've never used them. And this shit smells just like it.

What the fuck happened to just being "Unscented"? I had an unscented can of Raid that I loved, and it worked beautifully, without any chemical odors or scents. Now it's all of this scented bullshit. Home Depot doesn't sell unscented bug killers, and neither does Fred Meyer.

What the fuck? It must be some new annoying marketing fad.

Not to be that guy, because I like you, but they are Sea Anemones and not Sea Urchins. Now when I was living in Florida, I could harvest Urchins from the bay behind my house. I ate a lot of that sweet sweet Sea Urchin roe.

I have an indoor sauna that I use regularly, so it gives me heat tolerance and I don't really mind this weather. I also take cold showers, so I can withstand the winter as well!

65 degrees in the AC in the sunmer here would freeze you to death with no humidity.

Ha, have the AC set to 79 at night and wrap up in my blankey cuz I get cold. I do have 4 thermostats but didn't feel like getting nests for all of them. The theater room is upstairs so I bought one for it first. Turn it down before movie time and then back up to 87 or so when not in use. It only gets hotter than 87 up there in the hottest part of the summer. View attachment 15480

At some point, higher temps inside will ruin your furniture and stuff. The 87 seems like it might be too high.

I could only get 2 hours of sleep because of how hot it was last night. Now I have to somehow stay awake for 8 hours of work and another 2 and half to three hours when I head home from Beaverton to Vancouver via 30 minutes of walking to the nearest Max station, getting on 2 Max trains and then two C-Tran/Vine buses before finally getting home at 7-7:30pm.

Wish me luck that 5 hour energy's and coffee is enough to keep my eyes open.

Get the biggest towel you own wet and wring it out as much as possible and use it like a blanket and keep a fan on you. You'll freeze.

We set the thermostat to 78 or 75 overnight. The temps get into the high 90s overnight, so the A/C isn't working as hard (or cost) to cool those additional daytime 20 degrees.

I sleep with a fan 100% of the time. But the house still must be under 74 for me to fall asleep.
Now my gf, when she stays over is trying to convince me to set my hvac unit to keep it under 70.
I told her she better start paying me $$.

I use the ceiling fans all the time. Over the bed, over my desk, over the couch where we watch TV. Without them, it would be uncomfortable, for sure.

When the A/C kicks on, a bunch of hot air comes out of the vents initially. The ducts in the attic heat up and heat up the air. Probably a good idea to consider more insulation.

Our house is shaded and is usually cold - it is very unusual for us to use the AC - but it is hot enough this week (around 90) to use the fans (it is around 80 inside). The problem this week is that there is humidity.

The strange thing is that the cars are on the other side of our property - and it is very hot there - micro-climates at their best.
