tWTA PRAGUE&RABAT- Top 5 seeds reach Quarterfinals in Prague
Top seed Svetlana Kuznetsova, second seed Lucie Safarova, third seed Karolina Pliskova, fourth seed Samantha Stosur and fifth seed Barbora Strycova have booked their places in the Quarterfinals of the J&T Banka Prague Open WTA Tournament.
The longest match of the day was played between top seed Kuznetsova and USA's Madison Brengle. Both players went level until 4-4 when Brengle got the first break of the match but Kuznetsova saved two set points in the next game and broke back. Brengle broke Kuznetsova again and this time American held her serve to take the first set 7-5.
Kuznetsova raced to a 5-0 lead in the second set but Brengle made a comeback and almost levelled it at 5-5, but Kuznetsova broke her to take the second set 6-4. Brengle broke Kuznetsova in the first game of the third set but the Russian broke back and took the third set 6-3 to move into the Quarterfinals, where she will face Monica Puig, who defeated Czech lucky loser Barbora Krejcikova in straight sets 6-4 6-4.
