Jabari Parker

Do you consider yourself the end all to judging flaws of coaches, GM's and players? How much longer do you have to wait? Probably until the team decides to make a change, not because you think it needs to happen. If the team went off that kind of mindset we would have no players, no coach and no GM as almost every aspect of the Blazers have people wanting it changed at one time or another. Sly doesn't think we should have a trail cat for a mascot, but he's a bit biased.
What are you even saying? The logic you're using here is, at least, confused.

What am I impatient about?
If the team went off of what mindset?

In IDEA 2, we trade Swanigan so that Leonard and Swanigan matches the full amount of salary we're bringing in to create a $17.9M TPE for Turner, who's salary doesn't have to be sent out to complete the trade. That's how it works, right? @hoopsjock @PtldPlatypus
Yes, each team can let the league know how they want the particular trade processed as long as what they want still allows the trade to go through.

Must be an age thing. What I was referring to is that there are many posters that have different ideas to improve this team and if yours and every other posters idea would be implemented then the GM, the coach and majority of players would be gone. Geesh, didn't think it was that difficult but I will try and simplify it in the future. Any way, I suggest we move on. :bgrin:

Why we got 2 small guards that don't play a lick of defense that starts. Yes they score a lot but they also give up a lot of points too. I wouldn't put Parker on the 1st unit but the 2nd unit to have a player at least can come in and give you consent double in scoring off the bench. Right now we don't have that player.

Damian Lillard is not small for a point guard. McCollum is a little undersized. They are both heads above Jabari "I'm not paid to play defense" Parker when it comes to defense

That was previous. I let it go after i made the threads and moved on and got back to discussing basketball.
Let it go in general... If the thread spam was what you needed to let it go then fine.

If we were to trade Stauskas, two questions come to mind.
How is he valued around the league, Nd what do we think he could net us in return???

Questions maybe the OP had intended on asking as well. :)

Id say his value MIGHT net us a second round pick right now. Not sure how the league values him.
But i bet its less than Blazer fans.

So if he has little value and will net little in return, what is the point of making him a priority to move?
He is new to this team and most players require time for adjustments. Combine that with Stotts irratic and mind boggling rotational changes,
I think he is providing what we brought him in for. As he continues to gel i hope his defense improves. He has a solid three. He can drive to the hoop. He moves well off the ball.

@Rastapopoulos you started this thread, is this just a personal bias or do you care to justify this thread with any specifics as to why this should be a focal point for the Blazers?

Let it go in general... If the thread spam was what you needed to let it go then fine.
Lol dude, read above. Its not like i was pissed or freaking out, i was just making a point. I mean i weote the above in the midst of making the threads. Lol

Not talking about that. You called out HCP dude... just stop the beef.

Lol. Go read that thread. I didnt bump it. I just read it cause someone else bumped it. I made one small comment based off reading it that got blown up into a thing and it was discussed and ended.
I dont have time or care enough to sift through old threads for nonsense. Are you kidding me??? I have real world shit to focus on.
Come on man.

Regarding parker, if it helps us relieve salary sooner, I'm for it because whatever downgrade he might be on the court, it cant be valued more than that cap relief would be.

What the hell are you talking about? Other theads...? What...?

In this thread, at 5AM this morning, you called out HCP. You said you want to be done with this drama. Everyone else wants y'all to be done with this crap. I tried explaining to you how you shouldn't buy-in, give him ammunition, or try to start anything. Are you really going to tell me this post isn't calling him out and complaining?
Curious as to why these guys arent getting slammed by the same people who slam KS aNd others for doing this.
Surely the posters here are not biased and are fair right????

FAMS!!!!
I'm not dumb... Stuff like this is what I'm telling you to drop. Please.

Oh that post. Thought you were referencing the papag thing.
No. I was calling out the hypocritical posters who call out certain posters but not others for doing the same thing. Hcp is one of several. I was not directing this at him alone.
I moved on this morning after i made the posts.
I moved on in the midst of making those posts as evidenced by discussing basket ball else where virtually simultaneously.
All good man.

Quit causing drama... You start posting regularly for a day and already tried creating multiple threads to be obnoxious and are calling out groups of people while insinuating HCP by finishing with "FAMS!!!"...

Just be how you used to be minus the HCP crap. Please. FFS.

Quit playing dumb. That's his thing. He started the use of that on this forum. You, me, and everyone else that's been here knows that. He also complains about KS threads more than anyone (which is what you referenced right before saying "FAMS").

SMH.

Dude that isnt just his thing. Do your research. ;)

With the cap benefits of a Turner/Parker swap, I'd guess that a first-rounder would likely have to be surrendered.

This is the team advanced defense ratings:

Trent 92.7
Curry 96.9
Swanigan 102.5
Collins 104.7
Turner 105.7
Nurk. 106.8
Layman 106.8
Leonard 106.9
Aminu. 108.6
Lillard 109.0
Simons. 109.5
McCollum 109.6
Staukis. 112.3
Baldwin. 121.3
Now Parker has 109.8
I know some these players haven't play much. But now you where Parker would fit in has defender. Most all our players ratings are down from last year.

I guess this year Dame and CJ feels the same way because there not much better then Parker defense ratings. Matter fact Dame and CJ last year was in the 104 and this year 109's that about 5 point drop off.

That stat is the worst.

Yes it is on Parker and a lot of our guys also. Most our players have drop in our defense rating from last year. It could be a lot of reasons though. It could the new the rule or we not lock like we was last year.

I haven't looked at any stats, but it wouldn't surprise if many players and teams are off pace from last years defensive ratings as scoring is up pretty much across the board. A quick look at points per team there are 16 teams averaging 110 points or more where as last year there were only 6. Defensive ratings are also very difficult as there are many factors in defense that sometimes stats can't quantify.

You are proving my point, if this discussion was all contained to one thread we wouldn't have this problem.

I am on record as saying that if we can get an expiring contract for Turner or Leonard (and maybe Harkless) without giving up a draft pick I will take it no matter who the player is coming back. I don't care if it makes us slightly worse this year (even though it probably wouldn't) because it would force Stotts to give developmental minutes to the younger guys and I believe that would suit this team better long term instead of trying to make ET fit in a system that doesn't play to any of his strengths. If he only played with the 2nd unit it might be different but then he'd only be playing 12 minutes a game and making $18 million next year.

Actually I don't think it would make much difference as many of these threads are a mile long with 2/3 of a mile of garbage intermixed making it difficult to follow or spend and hour reading through a boring thread. I wish threads would be cut off after a certain time and then if people want to bring a topic back up then it is fresh without 100's of posts to wade through. I have never really liked this format all that well as posts can get buried rather quickly where as on OL it was more like a running dialogue as if guys were sitting around a table discussing basketball in a bar. It amazes me how many threads get so easily derailed in the forum.

The Jazz have interest.

The last thing that I want them to add is a scoring punch

Playoff teams are looking to get better.

Olshey sits on his thumbs, "earning" $3m annually.

I don't get using a team that is doing poorly as an example of why Olshey doing nothing is proof he sucks.

The Jazz are 14-16 so these moves that "playoff teams are looking to get better" by making aren't actually making them better.

The point is they’re proactive. Portland isn’t in a much better position, hovering around the 8th seed. I’d actually argue Portland is worse, because they’ve had more continuity than most other teams, yet still haven’t made any sort of jump. They look like the same inconsistent team they’ve been for the last couple of years, yet no inclination that any sort of change is on the horizon.

Yes yes. Olshey doesn’t let anything leak. He’s so secretive that he avoids moves all together.

I get all that, it's just weird that I think a majority of people are against bringing in Parker as anything more than a salary dump yet here we have someone praising Utah for being rumored to be interested in that same player.

Jabari isn’t useless. He just didn’t work out in Chicago. They tried playing him at SF. They have enough PFs. Utah has enough defenders to mask his deficiencies. They could use a scorer. Good for them if they get him, I think it would make them better. I wish I could say with certainty that we also have a franchise invested in putting the best product on the court. The past year + has made me cynical that we do.
