The Bakersfield Jam (34-14) defeated the Reno Bighorns (15-32) on Monday night by a final score of 124-94. Six Jam players scored in double figures, led by Brian Butch (27 points, 18 rebounds) and Damion James (26 points, 9 rebounds).
After leading 34-28 to end the first quarter, Bakersfield extended their lead to 16 points in the second quarter and went into the half up 63-47. Total dominance in the third period by the Jam as they shot 71 percent from the field, held Reno to just 28 percent, and outscored the Bighorns 38-19 in the quarter. Bakersfield stretched their lead to as many as 38 points in the final frame and ran away with a road victory.
Bakersfield shot 55 percent from the field, including 14-of-25 from three-point land, and held Reno to just 40 percent shooting.
Shan Foster had a season-high 22 points on 9-of-11 shooting, including 4-of-5 from beyond the arc. Adrian Thomas also scored a season-high of 12 points, making 4-of-6 from three-point land. Adam Koch tallied 12 points, while James Nunnally contributed 11 points.
The Bighorns were led by Samardo Samuels who posted a double-double of 26 points and 12 rebounds. Desmon Farmer scored 19 points, and Mo Charlo tallied 14 points.
Bakersfield will play its last two regular-season games against its division rival the Santa Cruz Warriors on Friday, April 6 (at Bakersfield) and on Saturday, April 6 (at Santa Cruz). Both games are set to tip-off at 7 p.m. PST.
