Seven Jam players scored in double-figures en route to a 117-108 win at home against the Texas Legends on Tuesday. Mike Scott (22 points, 12 rebounds) and James Nunnally (18 points [7-11]) led the way for Bakersfield as they improve to a league best 25-11 on the season.
Both NBA assignees for the Jam, Scott (Atlanta Hawks) and Quincy Acy (Toronto Raptors), paced Bakersfield in the first quarter as Acy scored nine points and Scott scored eight points to help the Jam take a 33-23 lead after one period of play. Texas responded with a strong second quarter of their own, outscoring the Jam 31-19 and taking a 54-52 lead at halftime.
In the third, Nunnally had a spectacular performance as he scored 13 of his 18 points (5-of-7 FGs) in that quarter and helped the Jam take a 91-85 lead to end the third. The Legends tied it in the final frame (93-93 with 8:10 remaining) but Bakersfield went on a 17-7 run in the final minutes to seal the victory.
Jerel McNeal finished the night with 17 points and a game-high nine assists while Renaldo Major scored 14 points. Damion James and Acy each tallied 11 points and Adam Koch contributed 10 points off the bench. For the second consecutive game, all five starters for the Jam scored in double-figures.
Texas was led by Justin Dentmon who had a game-high of 25 points and Christian Eyenga who scored 24 points off the bench. Fred House had 17 points while Sean Singletary contributed 16 points.
Bakersfield will now head on a three-game road trip, beginning Saturday, March 9 when they take on the Erie Bayhawks. Tip-off set at 4 p.m. PST.
