The Bakersfield Jam (27-16) defeated the Erie BayHawks (28-16) by 28 points, 126-98, at the Jam Events Center Saturday night. With the victory, Bakersfield clinched a play-off spot and set a new franchise record for wins in a single season.
Bakersfield hit 9 three-pointers on the night, compared to Erie's lone three-pointer by Ahearn in the final quarter. The Jam outscored the BayHawks in each quarter tonight, never trailed and led by as many as 31 points in the game.
Drew Naymick led Bakersfield tonight with a double-double of 23 points and 10 rebounds. Stephen Dennis finished with 22 points and 8 assists. Trey Johnson also had a double-double of 21 points and 10 assists. Derrick Byars added 19 points, 8 of which came in the opening period.
Erie was led this evening by Ivan Johnson's 25 points off the bench. Guard Blake Ahearn tallied 19 points on 6-for-9 shooting. Jermaine Beal contributed a double-double of 17 points and 10 rebounds.
Up next, the Jam will look to complete the season-series sweep of the Thunderbirds on Tuesday and Wednesday nights at New Mexico. Bakersfield leads the season-series 2-0.
