Re: James threw the game last night playing a passive-aggressive mission for the team

My biggest problem with the Cav's big 3 is Kevin Love.
The guy just doesn't play defense.
He was matched up vs Lopez all night and not once did he put his hands up to contest the shot.
When he was matched up vs Aldridge.. Aldridge had flashbacks of Terrance Jones trying to guard him.
Won't even mention what happened when the other hustle guy was vs Aldridge..

Kevin Love puts up numbers.. He can shoot the 3 at a high clip.. Has a decent jump hook as his go-to-move. But his defense is....

I mean I hate Chris Bosh. Never will like him... However I will give the guy credit.
He sacrificed a lot for the heat on the offensive end and took the challenge defensively to guard the post.
Cavs have Andy V-(not going to attempt his last name).. But he's no post defender... Honestly his best post defense is his hair.. Maybe it'll distract someone...
The Cavs need a post defender. Play slows down in the playoffs... Even if they turn up the defensive pressure... The Spurs will throw it to Duncan and everyone knows how that turns out...

They have Brenden Haywood. But is he the answer there? Will he get playing time?

It's not just Love. It's Irving and Waiters as well. Everyone except LeBron has a history of being a selfish me-first player. There's a reason why a team with quite a bit of talent last year was unable to make the playoffs. Kyrie pouts and is a horrible leader. He pretty much wanted out of Cleveland until LeBron said he was coming back. He and Waiters feuded last season. Now you add the new Stat-Bo, Kevin Love, and you've got a "big three" that is 2/3 comprised of selfish stars who don't get it. This is a far cry from the LeBron/Wade/Bosh combo. All three of those guys had already played on shitty teams, they had already been "the man" and they wanted to win. Unless LeBron steps up and leads, this team will fail because of the egos and the selfish attitudes.

Makes me wonder. If the Wizards vs Cavs happen in the playoffs.... Will the Wizards pull out the upset?
Love can't check Nene or Gortat...
John Wall is damn good... Beal as well.. Pierce?
Would the Cavs do the little things to beat that team?
I trust LeBron would... But would his co-stars?
I don't know. I would go with Wizards in 5... over the Cavs.

He's too young. He doesn't get it. He's their version of Westbrook. Lebron is playing it wrong though. Jordan would have walked in and established himself as the alpha dog. Lebron is further proving that he's more a pippen and less a Jordan.

Cleveland doesn't need a Jordan/Kobe though, they need team ball, not an egotistical ass-hat playing the role of Stalin.

Jordan won six championships with that mindset. Kobe, for all his faults, won five titles.

Re: James threw the game last night playing a passive-aggressive mission for the team

Yeah, they both also had Phil Jackson who could control the controller.

Ok, but my point is that the Cavs are too young to understand that they need to police themselves.

Re: James threw the game last night playing a passive-aggressive mission for the team

... do you think that if James wins, say, 4 titles over the rest of his career to get to 6 wins (all as the prime dog, not like Ray Allen on the Heat or something)...would he be considered the greatest, or would someone bring up, "yeah, but you lost in the Finals 3x"?
Flawed premise, because Sabonis was the greatest to ever play the game.

LeBron James and Kyrie Irving exchanged words in the Cleveland Cavaliers' locker room following the team's 19-point loss to the Portland Trail Blazers on Tuesday night, and it led to Irving leaving quickly without speaking to the media, multiple sources told ESPN.com.

Going It Alone
The Cavs had assists on only six of their 30 field goals Wednesday, the lowest assist percentage (20 percent) by a LeBron James team in his career.

Date Opponent Pct.
Wednesday at Jazz 20.0
April 22, 2012 Rockets 28.6
Nov. 26, 2005 Wolves 28.6
Feb. 22, 2004 at Knicks 29.0

The discussion was seen as healthy, sources said, with the veteran James voicing concerns about the direction of the Cavs' offense. James scored just 11 points against the Blazers and did not score in the second half, and he was often not a part of the offense. Cleveland is off to a 1-3 start following a last-second loss to the Utah Jazz on Wednesday night.

"There's a lot of bad habits, a lot of bad habits been built up the past couple years," James said to the media moments after the exchange. "When you play that style of basketball, it takes a lot to get it up out of you."

James addressed Irving to discuss the way he'd been dominating the ball in the early going of the season. Irving is averaging just 3.8 assists thus far. He scored 34 points in the 102-100 loss Wednesday to the Jazz but had no assists in 45 minutes of playing time.

Irving hasn't had an assist in more than six quarters, and he's taken 36 shots in that span. The Cavs tied a franchise-record low with six assists, four of them from James, against the Jazz.

mwahahaha.

Re: James threw the game last night playing a passive-aggressive mission for the team

LeBron "recommenced" a starting lineup change last night.....Miller in and Waiters out. The coach is already dead man walking. It will be interesting to see how Irving, Love and LeBron end up getting along if they struggle. I don't think the lack of assists by Kyle will be an issue though. LBJ prefers to run the offense anyways.

What? Kyrie Irving has been dominating the ball? Really? I just did not see that coming.

Of course Irving has been dominating the ball. That's what he knows how to do.

This Cavs team is not as good a fit as Lebron had in Miami. And he'd fit even better with the Blazers starters.

It's all about the fit. Synergy is a powerful drug.

We all knew it would never happen but many of us have commented in the past that the Blazers really would have been the perfect fit for LBJ. His loss I guess but its too bad he didnt look at it more from that angle but hey hometown will always be hometown.

Also the storyline of going back to Cleveland was written the day he left. It's hard to give up the drama and the spotlight.

Oh man imagine him in portland instead of Batum... Impossible to stop because we would have a post up player at SF, PF, and center.

I thought I was replying to HCP but no offense..I'll take being called brainlesss or a half wit for what it is. No big deal..back to basketball

Play passive aggressive all you like. Personally I think that if you have something to say then say it.

I think he was saying he couldn't read past HCP's misspelling of your moniker.

Alright. I'll play along, if it's my misunderstanding then mea culpa.

I could be wrong. I thought I was wrong once before, but I was mistaken...

Re: James threw the game last night playing a passive-aggressive mission for the team

This here to me is an easy fix. Let those who want to handle the ball and 'distribute', handle the ball and distribute. Let those who put themselves and their numbers above the team sit back and receive the passes and worry about putting the ball in the net.

I agree 6 assists won't cut it. I'm thinking Blatts offense will come around. If he is the innovator has said he is.

You are not wrong, that will never happen. Riverman would never snark like that. Nik misread the intent.
