Could be a solid role player.... nice pickup.

Nets just got a guy they can give a legitimate try at SF. Very nice pickup.

YOOO wow i just refresh the page and this came up, totally random!! but great signing i guess??

Nice, I've always liked Hayes.

NetsDaily is down, right?

Bye Bye Boki??
ill miss him, anyway what do u guys think are SF rotation will look like?

This came way out of left field. Nice signing.

Wow, thank god it isn't Najera. What a perfect signing.

This is purely bench depth.

If he is playing more than 15-20 MPG, that's not good.

He's a nice, reliable player. He's got good size and he can score - especially against second units.

I think if he got all the wide open threes Boki got he would have shot 45%.

Don't go crazy though, he's earned his career shooting percentage of 40%.

I'm good with this signing. I've always liked Hayes and he can definitely provide a little scoring spark off the bench.

I liked Hayes coming out of college. Always thought he'd do better than he has.

There's been some flashes. Hopefully he's a late bloomer.

I'm down with the signing. Good bench depth. Hopefully it's a nice reasonable deal and doesn't keep us from getting a good back-up pg.

Since it's two years, it can't be too bad.

I think the Nets are a good destination for wing players trying to prove something. I'm sure his agent was very amenable.

The Nets are throwing things against the wall and seeing what sticks. I like that approach for a team that knows its not ready to compete yet.

You guys are probably losing some more outside shooting with this exchange though (I know a lot of you complain about that already).

I just re-read it. He got the bi-annual LLE. 2 years at $1.91mm per. Not bad. We still have our full MLE.

That's a terrific deal. I don't see a downside.

Yes, will he start though since our SF position is thin to say the least. He's a pretty good player. And since he was a Piston he has to be good at d, no?

Possibly. But at least it will be more consistant. Boki is the definition of a streaky shooter. Some nights you know the ball is going in and other nights you don't even have to watch the shot to know he's going to miss. I'll still miss him though.

I don't think anything is guaranteed to anyone on this team other than Carter and Harris.

wow! nice job by the nets...hayes provides depth, toughness and some outside shooting at a cheap price...but they're still talking to najera! booo... i have nothing against najera and he would be nice to have but how many forwards do we need? i actually wanted the nets to sign hayes and pietrus and trade marcus for belinelli. we couldn't give pietrus that rich a contract he got from the magic but we got hayes so i'm happy...

SPLASH!

THanks for taking him away from the spurs.

I <3 nets.

Agreed.

Dont count out Bobby Simmons who if healthy can be a more productive player than Hayes. Overall I like this signing, hes a solid bench player whose not costing the team anything and his contract is up in 2 years! It's win, win situation for the Nets and I have a good feeling about this guy really doing well on our team.

Nice bench depth pickup at a good price. Sad to see if Boki is gone though. Now if they could get Dooling or even Daniel Gibson with the MLE for two years that would be awesome. That puts the Nets roster at 14 guaranteed contracts as of now with one open roster spot left. Get a trade done and ship out some bigs out along with Hassell, Simmons, and Marcus and get a nice starting big and SF.
