He's running out of material.

Former Trail Blazer all-star Brandon Roy has already announced that he's going to sign a contract with the Minnesota Timberwolves, whom he chose over at least four other teams negotiating for his services after the Trail Blazers used the amnesty clause on him last season.

Yes, Paul Allen is a billionaire. But I would guess even Allen would not be happy about losing $17 million.

Dwight, was this the "private" policy Pritchard talked about in 2011? They bought it for 5M, which makes it a bit surprising that the premium for the insurance was 1/3 of the coverage, which was only 1/5 of his contract. And it's counter to what Pritchard said:
Pritchard revealed that the portion of Roy’s contract that isn’t guaranteed was used to purchase a secondary insurance option, which covers Roy in entirety.
And if even if they they did get the reduced amount of insurance coverage, wouldn't the term be for the entire contract? So that even if he played this year didn't play in 2013-14 or 2014-2015, they'd still get 17M because he'd then be "permanently" disabled, right?

Coulda sworn I read this before.
