I wasn't trying to imply that you were stereotyping him - that was more of a comment directed at the guys on 1080 The Fan who had Travis on the phone after he was drafted by us and openly made fun of him and his accent.

My apologies.

It's all good. I need to lay off him a bit.

I'm fairly certain Travis, Ruben, indeed anyone who's ever reached the NBA level, has a much, much higher basketball IQ than anyone posting here.

Nobody gets there on talent alone.

So I guess you're going to stop complaining about Nate McMillan and KP and any decision they make, right? Afterall, they have a much much higher basketball IQ than anyone posting here.

I'm not trying to be mean. I'm not trying to take personal shots at Travis. What I AM saying is that it's not going to change. He isn't going to get better mentally. This is what Travis is. This is as good as it gets for him. He can continue to get better athletically but he will always make mistakes that will drive us nuts.

I don't know about that. He's much less of a black hole as he was last season. He definitely passes more and plays more within a team concept than he has in the past. Once he gets playoff games under his belt, that add to the seasoning of his game. Experience teaches.

I'm not so sure how true this is. Just think about the amount of boneheaded plays he would do 2 seasons ago. He has lessened his brainfarts a lot over the past couple seasons. Sure, he will always make more on court dungs than we might like, but I think he will continue to get better mentally. Remember, he is still, even though he has been in the league 6 seasons, a young man. People mature mentally, as they do physically, through their twenties.

Just 'cause they're intelligent doesn't mean we have the same opinions, although KP and I see eye to eye on most players and style of play.

I think the 'laying on' on Travis for basketball conversation is certainly warranted but I guess I don't care if any of them aren't the brightest bulbs off the court (unless they're shooting at people or walking through metal detectors with tinfoil wrapped marijuana).

I just don't understand why people don't want to constructively criticize players who are six year veterans who sometimes score a lot of points but love to shit on people coming off of surgeries and not playing a year for even the tiniest of things - like facial expressions during play.

It's mind boggling. All I want is the Blazers to be the best they can be on the court - and I think that in regards to Travis that only happens is if he only plays around 15 minutes if he isn't having a 'good Travis' day, or if he isn't here at all. I wish him success if he wants more than 15 minutes and wants to leave when this eventually happens and have no ill will. I just want what is best for the Blazers.

Well, we're 29-17 and he's been a big part of it.

This is so fucking awesome. 29-17!!!!!!!!!!!! A chance to take 4th place on Monday!!!!!!!!!!! We might make the playoffs!!!! IT COULD HAPPEN!!!!!!!!!

GO BLAZERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And we did it without THREE of our starters (if you include Greg missing due to foul trouble)!!!!!!!!!

Greg hasn't hit any game winners :devilwink:

Batum is the real deal. He took Williams out of the game. I am impressed.

I'm done with the Travis/PG/Oden fights right now guys. I'm happy for this team. I want to trade NO ONE and I'm lovin watchin the team play.

Go Blazers!!! Enjoy!!!!

I one day envision Greg tipping in an offensive rebound at the buzzer and Kingspeed exploding from not knowing whether to say he's given up on him or that he's >>>>>>>>> Wilt/Russel/Olajuwon/Ewing/O'Neal combined.

Please. Calm down. Get over me.

Why no more love for Joel tonight?? Hello? Anyone? I'm the only one who's mentioned him.

do the smart people repeat the same crap ad nausea?

By age 24 guys are done getting better athletically, but they do usually get better at the mental part of the game... even the stupid ones. You do know that this isn't rocket science right?

STOMP

Everybody played very well tonight. The ball movement was a thing of beauty...

man, how much easier is it to beat the Jazz w/o Kirilenko?
