Guys. We need another President from Oregon. The only other one was some guy from Newberg who they named a dam in Nevada after.

Your President cut the funding for my son's healthcare....

Why do I not like her?

I do not agree with her hyper liberal agenda.
I do not like that she targets small voting blocks and taxes them alone.
I do not like the latest tax that was levied on health care providers, that is designed to mostly be passed on to the consumer.
I do not like that she has declared this state as a sanctuary state.
I do not like that she allows illegal aliens to obtain a drivers licence.
I do not like that she allows our tax dollars to be made available to provide social services to illegal aliens.

Is that enough, or do you want more?

I am not the most qualified to speak on these people. The only ones that I have met are Knute and Sam. Knute is a very impressive person with the personality to be able to chart his way around the skoals. I am not in favor of a lot of his ideas on health care, as he gives the impression that an expansion is fine while vilifying how it is currently ran. I am afraid that he would make being pro health care his entire agenda. Just an opinion.

Sam does not have the personality or charisma to charm the masses, so I doubt he will ever get much traction. With that said, I like his platform best of all those you have listed. If these guys are my only choices, I would still give Sam the nod.

That's probably two more than most of us have met, so you might be the most qualified (here). If anyone else does feel qualified, though, would be interested to hear their take too.

All I'm going to say about the current crop of Republican gubernatorial candidates--aside from the fact that they're mostly anonymous--is that the likelihood of a Republican winning a governor or senate election in this state in the next decade is virtually nil, so there's almost no point in even learning about these guys, let alone evaluating them.

I would have said that about Secretary of State too, but a republican won that last time. Ya never know.

Based on my cursory review of the four sites listed, Beuhler has the most experience and is the most "moderate", Carpenter is probably the most traditional conservative, Cuff would probably be the religious right's preference, and Smith would probably be my personal favorite.

But nobody really pays any attention to the secretary of state. If there were an election for just the secretary of state and nobody else, it'd probably get 25-30% turnout. Senator and Governor are the only real significant statewide offices, and Democrats have them locked up tight for the forseeable future.
 
Pretty sure Jeffy will be facing a scandalous investigation before the Primaries arrive.

I have indeed seen a lot on this message board, and I think he's approaching the limit. Some will take a single thread, like 'Natural Born', and pull it out slowly and carefully over a long period of time like a giant tapeworm, but he's doing multiple objects every day.

He is going to be fun to watch no matter what happens. Sure, he lacks pizazz. But he is proving he is willing to step up and confront shit no one else will.
