Yes, they are purely evil.

Yes they are. They overcharged every single patient they served to pay for that "charity care", contributed not one red cent of their own astronomically bloated salaries, then took credit for the payment. They overcharged every single patient to support soccer, a sport most of their patients have no interest in. They overcharged every single patient so they can spend millions on completely unnecessary advertising.

And they lie about not turning people away for lack of insurance. They do the required by law quicky lookover, then tell them they're fine, it's just stress, take 2 aspirin. No thorough examination, no tests even if they're obviously needed. No real expense of time or money wasted on poor people. And I'm not singling out Providence here. All large healthcare organizations do the same.
