QUOTE

The Nets still are a distinct possibility, but sources say Bird isn't that enamored with Jefferson and his contract. With young forward Danny Granger, he believes he has a younger, less expensive model. Nevertheless, the Pacers still could do that trade and ship Jefferson elsewhere, but they're giving it one more shot with him. For now, anyway, O'Neal's giving it another shot with them.

Would we have anyone who would run the floor?

Kidd, Williams, Wright...and um...that guy...maybe...

screw bird! the only way i would make a deal if i was thorn isrj, collins, b-rob(expring contract) and a pick. thats fair imo JO is no shaq orgarnett and birdexpects a package similiar to that. the lakers wouldnt even give him both odom and bynum and we were offering rj collins and kristic( a better package imo)

If we are going to eventually get them I like Thorn's hardball technique. Its obvious that JO is a dissenting player, so why feel pressured to throw away the entire bench?

RJ + Krstic would be a decent trade. I wouldn't give them anything higher. Hell if there was a way to keep RJ I'd be for that. Magloire + Krstic + 1st rounder? Low ball the **** outta him Thron!

Jeez. Jigga, we're not the Laker fans

Hey man we technically have pieces that could get kobe! I would prefer to keep the team the way it is barring a superstar trade, you never know.

Hey, THRON's done it before, and he could certainly do it again.

Marion, AK47, JO, Kobe. None of these guys have been traded yet, and last I checked, all of their trade requests still stood (not JO's, but they'd trade him in a second if the right deal came along).

Decent chance that at least 1 of them will still be on their team by December 15th. And we all know what that means.

(It means great disappointment for all us Nets fans who aren't on the VC love train. God dammit!)

I was excited about this trade around the draft, but not anymore. I think we have a solid team right now and JO could mess things up. If he comes in now our season would start off so slow. I like the team we have now. And WATCH OUT FOR NACHBAR THE KIDS GONNA BE DOIN BIG THIINGS THIS YEAR I KNOW IT!

To dream the impossible dream
To fight the unbeatable foe
To bear with unbearable sorrow
To run where the brave dare not go

To right the unrightable wrong
To love pure and chaste from afar
To try when your arms are too weary
To reach the unreachable star

This is my quest
To follow that star
No matter how hopeless
No matter how far

To fight for the right
Without question or pause
To be willing to march into Hell
For a heavenly cause

And I know if I'll only be true
To this glorious quest
That my heart will lie peaceful and calm
When I'm laid to my rest

And the world will be better for this
That one man, scorned and covered with scars
Still strove with his last ounce of courage
To reach the unreachable star

its kind of sad how guys like Bird and Isiah could be such great players but such lousy executives.

Yes it is sad regarding Bird, but no it isn't sad regarding Zeke.

Well, the JON trade talks were going to pop up again eventually. I still expect a deal to occur between now and December.

It's all going to depend on whether the Nets play well from the season opener till around December or early January. If things aren't looking too bright, the Nets won't have much choice but to change up their roster, Jermaine being the main piece added. I'm pretty confident in our current roster, but that doesn't mean much until they actually play.

I can see Jordan following their steps.

Don't forget about Mchale.

If RJ performs with 20 point 5 rebounds 4 assists, he won't be traded..

Richard Jefferson can very easily get traded if he produced those numbers and the team isn't doing well. RJ and Krstic may do well but if the team struggles, you can say goodbye to RJ and maybe even Krstic.

Shouldn't it be that he would be traded? The better he plays, the higher his trade value, the more the Nets could get for him, and the better chance for a team to want to trade for him.

That's my point though, if RJ plays well and the Nets struggle, his trade value is high. This can make it a lot easier to get Jermaine O'Neal. It'll benefit both teams in that they get what they want and the Nets will be set for contention of the NBA ring.

I can't picture Krstic being here though if JO comes in.

PG:Kidd

SG:Carter

SF:Nachbar

PF:O'Neal

C:Magloire

And just for the record RJ AND Krstic have both already been offered before in June, so don't feel so comfortable thinking Thorn will never offer those two. The dealbreaker was MW. If he weren't asked, O'Neal would've been playing last night

With the bench we have, this team is much better then the current starting lineup.

I bet Collins would STILL start, haha.

Not a lot of people look at O'Neal as a true all-star but the man averages great numbers and believe it or not is a better post presence then the one and only Kevin Garnett. JO is three times the player Krstic will ever be. And just for the record, me saying JO is a better post presence does not mean I think he's better then KG. It's just a simple old fact that KG shys away from the basket a lot and relies on his jumper when he can't break down the defense.

Wright would start. We need Snackbar off the bench.

Hahahaha. You said KG and post presence! ROFLness.

You say KG shys away from the basket and then talk about JON JON is the king of the ridiculous fade away to avoid contact. It takes zero defensive presence to force JON out of his comfort spot and into shooting his weak fade away.

JON is as overrated as they come.

I'm bored:

Richard Jefferson, Sean Williams, Marcus Williams, Bernard Robinson, Mile Ilic, for Jermaine O'Neil

Nenad Krstic for Josh Smith

Kidd/D.Armstrong/Hite
Carter/Wright
Smith/Nachbar
O'Neil/Boone/Allen
Collins/Magloire
