Who wants to bet that Jimmy's, "general soreness" feels much better now...

Both are decent players, Covington is way over paid in my opinion. I have 0 idea what CJ's trade value is.Not if Minnesota accepted Covington and Sarcic or whatever their names were.

I agree CJ is more than a decent player, but we don't know how Minnesota values our other players. Theres a good chance they weren't interested in any of the packages we could've offered that didn't include CJ.Thing is, CJ is more than a "decent" player. (Some) people acted like any offer from Portland that didn't start and finish with CJ, was a lost cause.

I don't know.
I guess, I'm not sure why you believe I think they are held to a different standard. I'm just saying we don't know what Minnesota would have valued on our team, or if they would've required CJ to be involved or not. Maybe they really liked Saric, or wanted to send Jimmy to the east? I have no idea. I don't know what Minnesota would've wanted from the Blazers. That's not the same. I don't get why people think Portland is held to different standards when it comes to trading.
Two solid young first round players.Covington/Saric/crappy pick for Butler/Patton? That;s actually not bad in terms of what MIN got back. I didn't think they would get that much.
I knew they wouldn't get chump change. Theb, Butler and Brown played this well. Those are quality pieces.
Huh, I was told the Blazers would have to include CJ in trade talks. Neither of those guys are CJ.
The only prospect we have on the Saric and Covington level, today was Zach Collins. If the sixers were looking for two good young prospects that are proven in the league, we couldn't have made a deal. Maybe nurkic, but they had no need for two young bigs. At least covington can play the 3 spot and has great d.That's not the same. I don't get why people think Portland is held to different standards when it comes to trading.

Well the Blazers didn't get him, so maybe they would've had to include CJ.

Patrons hurt.Maybe that is what was being asked of Portland. CJ, Turner, (another player) and a 2nd rnd for Butler and another player or 2.
I am sure Olshey was trying to bring them down, but with Paul gone who knows what happened with it.
With Butler benching himself maybe the Timberwolves got a little desperate and took less to get it done. Saric and Covington are good players and even though they may be an ill fit, the timberwolves will see how it works. Maybe Saric gets traded later this season. They could sorely use Covingtons defense.
Butler will help Philly who will use Simmons at the 4 and maybe even get something out of Patton in their thinned front court off the bench.
Saric and Towns are going to be super terrible on defense though.
Butler will leave Minnesota anyways so at least they got something back in Dario and Covington. Not like us when LMA left and we got nothing.
this because LA didn't work with Neil as Butler did with Thibs. In fact LA misled the franchise including Paul Allen.Butler will leave Minnesota anyways so at least they got something back in Dario and Covington. Not like us when LMA left and we got nothing.
There goes the Saric for CJ idea.Covington/Saric/crappy pick for Butler/Patton? That;s actually not bad in terms of what MIN got back. I didn't think they would get that much.
Well, they gave up Zach Lavine (he of 27 ppg) and Markkanen (15 ppg last year) for Covington and Saric...so....I'm not sure if that's a compelling argument in their favor anymore.

Aminu and ET?It was. Covington and Saric is better than any combo we could’ve realistically offered that didn’t include CJ or Zach.

I am not honestly sure which pair I think is better...Exactly?
Minnesota got a great deal, good for them.
And I bet Butler stays in philly.
Minnesota needed shooters and got 2 good shooters. The trade actually pisses me off.
