If we give up next to nothing, why not? If it doesn't work, oh well. Not like we're giving up talent.

Because Neil Olshey isn't going to bring in rentals...he is gonna bring in someone who is going to stay and who fits.. Noah doesn't exist in those two categories...plus he is an injury waiting to happen...no way he will ever wear a Blazers uniform

I'm not sure there's anyone else we're going to get for nothing in return. The cap space could be put to good use if we're a playoff team.

Teams aren't giving away young talented players who are ideally suited for our system.

I just see it as a good move for the young guys and a good move for on the floor, we could really go shut down mode at end of games if we had Noah.

Imagine a Dame/Harkless/Aminu/Davis/Noah lineup.

Portland is one of the few teams that could bring him in for nothing. If the Bulls really wanted to dump salary, they might do that versus trading him for other players. If done soon enough, Portland could trade for him and then move him out in a 1-for-1 deal right away to pick up assets they might want for later.

Fuck No. He's one heck of a player. But he's one hell of a scumbag.

You clearly don't know.

He's one of the most personable and likable players in his city who also does quite a bit of philanthropy behind the scene. .

Aaron Hernandez was personable and likable, and he was quite philanthropic, too.

You're just racist because he's Swedish.
Don't get me started on those meatball-eating borkborkborks...

I'd rather be a facilitator for a third team.
yeah, maybe a playoff/contending team gets desperate for a C and we use our capspace to facilitate a trade and maybe take another expiring they don't want and get a pick/player we do want

Wow funny this thread was here already when I made my Sac thread trade idea.

I wouldn't have any interest in Noah on his own but as a package where we acquire a young asset sure. You could really put any player in place of Noah and say "overpaid expiring contract" because thats how I view him if we traded for him.

We added a year of Raef LaFrentz contract and that helped us get Brandon Roy, I'd try to aim for something similar. We lucked out at that draft getting a future allstar but the premise is add on salary for young talent.

No, but having one of the best defenders in the nba help out with Leonard, Plumlee, Vonleh and Alexander would be very valuable.

Disagree; we have no use for Noah as a player. $16 million is way too much for a player/mentor.

As a contract that gets us some other young talent sure.

Maybe we could get something else in return as well, just for taking his salary off the Bulls' books.

Only reason to consider such a deal. We have zero use for Noah the player. We're not contending this year so we have zero need for old short term players.

He makes 13.4M and we have 20.6M in cap space. We could always move him again too, he has value.

If he has value get the value all at once in the same deal. I don't think we should use 2/3rd of our cap space on an asset with zero long term value.

I wonder if the Thunder go after him to reunite him with Billy Donovan (and try to shore up the Thunder's shitty defense).

I'd LOVE to have Noah. He's too old to be part of the core going forward, but I think his intensity improves any team culture.

Agreed. Noah was a great player and if we could get him from 5 years ago I'm giving up a lottery pick for him. But now injured and old he doesn't make any sense for a rebuilding team.

Comparing him to murderers is over the top sensationalism and very poor taste.

My thinking is if he helps you get playoff experience for the young guys, it's worth it. I'm not sold on Plumlee being a full time starter over the long term, so it wouldn't be keeping someone from needed development minutes.

Plus I saw him play last year, and he is not washed up.
