All,

It's kind of spammy, but I know there are a lot of good folks looking for quality work and wanted to help people find some. This is an email I got as part of my duties in the reserves. If it interests you, or someone you know, send me a PM and I can dig up more info.

Subject: Jobs in Aviation

You may be familiar with the Air Washington Consortium and the Aerospace Joint Apprenticeship Committee (AJAC). AJAC is an extension of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers. Currently they are looking for 45 people to go into machining over the next several months - they will also use a small piece of their grant to fill 11 positions within the community colleges. We are in the planning stages with them and they will be creating a recruiting plan with us to develop the
process. We are including them in our job fairs around the state.

The J9 has been working closely with Employment Security to create more job fairs around the state to specifically target Veterans and members of the Guard and Reserve. We have seen more Veterans, current military members, and members of the Reserve Components join us over the past year. Because of the Guard's footprint in communities across the state, it is a logical extension to invite each of you to join our efforts to communicate opportunities to ALL service members, regardless of branch or component, and to continue to assist Veterans after they leave Active Duty.

There are terrific opportunities available from organizations such as Hire America's Heroes and the Army Career and Alumni Program. We are not here to replace or compete with them. HAH and ACAP have been welcome partners for many years, and we refer our Guard members to them as much as possible.
But, often they are restricted to the Puget Sound area or to JBLM. The strength of the Guard is our presence in communities away from the flag pole. We would like to invite you to take advantage of our presence and if you are interested in receiving job fair announcements or information on new programs, please let me know.

Thanks for all you do, and as we approach Veterans Day, thanks for your continued service to our nation and her warriors.

Tom
