I’ve always thought like a Tony Martinez with Fox 12 job is the cushiest. Look at traffic cameras and tell people where the traffic is fucked like once an hour. In a cozy newsroom studio.

My cousin actually used to have this job in St Louis area. Left and took a job being a spokesperson for the fire department there. So the money must not be great.

What’s a job that you’ve thought about and been like damn. That person doesn’t do shit and I’d like to do that?

I went to high school with a guy who became a long time local sports newscaster. I always thought he had it cushy but it was essentially a "swing shift" schedule with a lot of prep time up front. He had to put in a lot of hours and he missed a lot of time with his kids when they were growing up. As he was pretty well known, it also messed with his privacy quite a bit. As this place proves, everyone has an opinion and everyone is eager to share it. Eventually he got tired of it and got into the dry cleaning business. There's definitely easier ways to make a living......

Thinking about a second career?

I actually love what I do for work.

But I’m sitting here on paid leave watching the news imagining how people can have such an easy job. Like telling people what the traffic cameras say twice an hour for about 3 hours a day.

I have a friend who got a huge govt grant to study the leisure lifestyles of indigenous people all around the world...that's the best job I've ever seen anyone get..he literally partied for a living and got to see the world at the same time. I was a tour guide for female Japanese college exchange students in Hawaii for a while...that was an easy job...hang at the beach and take them shopping and dining and sight seeing places like Kona or Akaka Falls, the Parker Ranch and Hilo...etc

That kids, is how I met your mother.

Trying to figure it out right now, actually. I just finished up what is hopefully my last w-2 job as I move to launch a start up in the coming months. Here's to being your own boss!

That self employment tax though. I did 1099 for a couple years and damn. Plus either having to do quarterly tax bills or a big ass bill every year. That was not fun.

All that said, I look forward to your business being franchised and you sitting on billions of dollars soon.

Delivering packages. That’s like STEALING money! You could train a monkey to do that! #BAM

I’ve only had 3 jobs in my life…..MP in the Army/ Washing cars on a car lot and what I do now.
Washing cars in the snow and heat day in and day out was definitely the easiest, but they most monotonous!

I know it's gonna be a battle but 9-5 in the office just wasn't going to work for me moving forward. Not with 2 kids under 2. Luckily my wife makes twice what I was making, so I have the opportunity to take a risk and hopefully grow something out of nothing.

Sounds like an incredible opportunity. Good for you, and good luck!
