Yeah, what we've really been missing around here is someone bitching and moaning and crying and whining in every thread. Not enough of it
What we need even more of is people bitching about people bitching and moaning and crying and whining in each thread.

Why are you the way you are @SlyPokerDog ?

I complain about bozos in team management. You complain about other posters. Funny thing is, I don't recall ever saying a harsh word to you before today. Pot and kettle.

Pot and kettle? If I was crying and whining like you are towards you, then yes, pot kettle. Just simply stating you're melting down is not a pot kettle situation. Anyways, carry on. Welcome back. We needed more crying here.

Whatever. You apparently get off on insulting people. Carry on.

One good point I heard regarding Ingles free agency was on the Dunc'd on podcast.

They said basically if he signed a very small (even as low as veteran minimum) deal with Portland he would keep his bird rights. The following summer he could sign a much larger deal as an over the cap team would have his full bird rights. Originally a few days ago they thought this might be a possibility with Utah in the summer if he stayed there.

But it could make sense in Portland if he wants to rehab his value after the injury. Blazers get a flyer on a great 6th man on a cheap contract. Ingles gets to keep bird rights for a much larger contract the following season.

So he could either try to be part of building a winner with Dame, or if the team switches to a full rebuild the Blazers trade him with bird rights.

Thats a good idea as they're currently featuring their worst lineup ever. I only wish I could skip the rest of the season and explore an interest thats a better use of my time.

STOMP

I'm following everything here at the deadline. But tomorrow I plan to just look at box scores the rest of the season until the draft.

In theory I like this, but bear in mind he will be 35 in October.

his efficiency and production fell of a cliff this season even before the injury. He'll be 35 when the season starts, and probably won't return to action till this time next season, and most players don't regain their form for 6-12 months after returning from a torn ACL

Ingles followed the blazers on IG and his wife reposted his welcome. It’s a small thing but after Cronins comments I wouldn’t be surprised if they tried to sign him for next season. He had a clean ACL tear with no other ligaments involved. The standard recovery would have him on track to be ready for next season. Even with down numbers he still plays good team defense, is unselfish, and can knock down a shot. Good in the locker room too. Also he’s Australian, they’re all weird, perfect culture fit for Portland. We could use more shithousery as well.

Also wouldn't mind having one vet player to help out Dame with leadership. I don't think Nurk is really a veteran type of leader.

great.

If its a vet minimum type of cheap contract and one roster spot it could be good.

Now if its using cap space or plug the roster with 4 veteran players of this type... no thats not good.

Cronin referencing his bird rights got my blood boiling. Did no one yesterday think about asking him about Ingles' 20 mil caphold completely torpedoing this supposed "flexibility" he touted?

I don't get why this upset you.

If he signs for a cheap deal his cap hold is gone but we keep his bird rights so it doesn't hurt the cap.

There is no way we keep his cap hold on the books if there is a better use of the cap space. If we are doing nothing with the cap might as well have his hold there or even explore using him in a sign and trade.
