(Freeland and Claver, that is, in the battle of Blazers draft picks in the Spanish Playoffs.) Joel's team Unicaja Malaga just knocked out Claver's higher-seeded Power Electronics Valencia, 2 games to zero, with Freeland the highest scorer on his team in the second game.

In general, I have to say Claver seems to be a big disappointment this season, certainly stat-wise. It can't be just a "young players don't get the shots" kind of deal because Spurs' second-rounder Nando De Colo has been a real stat-stuffer. But then again, he did get that award, so maybe he's a Batum type that you have to see play to understand his contributions.

Freeland's stats have improved a lot this season, and that's with the jump to a bigger club. I still have my doubts about his role with Portland, but maybe he has value as a trade chip.

Who cares, none of them are ever going to come over. I over the euros entirely.

I haven't watched Claver play this year, but from most of the things I've read or heard about him, it doesn't bode real well for him being a productive NBA player any time soon -- the biggest knocks, being stuck between 3 and 4 defensively and not exactly lighting it up shooting the ball -- It's nice to hear that Freeland is progressing though, if he and PK end up being rotation quality guys (and actually come over) that's a pretty good batting average for late in the first round.

I just watched the first half and from a pure playoff basketball game, it sure was refreshing watching passing ( motion offense, no ISO's ) running, shooting, etc.

This years NBA playoffs have been horrible. But were we then expecting anything different ?

Also, after watching this game I don't blame Rudy one bit for wanting out of PDX. Nate is/ will run him out of Portland with whatever he calls his offense ( give Roy the ball and stand around )

I am always amused when people take the time to post "who cares?" about a thread.

If you're over the international players entirely, then I feel bad for you.

Power Electronics Valencia is one of the 3 European teams that have offered a contract to Sergio this month. The others were Real Madrid and I forget the 3rd one.

Good for him

I am always amused when people take the time to point out something that they thought was pointless to begin with. Irony at its best.

I like what I saw from Freeland while he was here. Probably because he isn't one of those soft spanish players!

Good info, but neither will ever be in a Blazer uniform, so it doesn't matter. Or if they are won't be able to play in Nate's slow down and give the ball to Brandon's offense, and will ask for a trade

Thought this was about Przybilla and Khryapa, not 2 wannabe's.

I'm a KP fan, but his draft record is not all good. I'm sure every GM wishes they had the luxury to buy draft picks the way KP has been able to do . . . and I'm guessing many GMs feel they could have done better with all those draft picks than KP has done.
