"When I was younger I played football for about eight years but I broke my left leg. When I did it, it took about a year for me to fully recover.

"After that I didn't want to go back to football because I was scared of the tackles and didn't want anything to do with it.

My PE teacher at the time suggested I try basketball. I tried it and then I carried on playing it and I loved it."

He said: "I had a contract to play in the NBA this summer but I actually turned it down because I didn't think I would be able to play and improve.

That was old information though, there was a story about that earlier this summer. I think that is one of the best qualities you can have in a young player with raw talent. Too bad Sergio did not have the same mindset. Coming over too early can actually hurt your game.

This also makes me appreciate how ready Batum is.
