Blazers scouts have loved UNC PF John Henson since HS. Will now likely have 2 crack at him. >>>>

A projected top-10 pick.

I think they would be okay as a 1-2 PF-C combo. Both are extremely long, and Henson will be a better rebounder than LA even though he's shorter. Henson is a pretty good, but not elite prospect.

I'd be okay with it.

EDIT: Scratch that, just checked, Henson is actually the same height as LA. I could have sworne he was 6-9, 6-10. They have very similar builds too coming out of college.

With a little more seasoning and some added bulk I think he'd be pretty good.

At this point, I would go BPA with both picks. If we'd gone BPA we would have Kevin Durant right now.

With a narrow frame as well.

Narrow shoulders.

You mean like Kevin Durant?

And no I'm not saying he's the next KD, I'm just saying the bulk of his frame is less important than whether or not he can actually play ball.

I don't know if Henson will or won't be the "BPA" when we select, but for the sake of argument let's say that he is. I hope the Blazers don't pass on him because they want a less talented guy because he looks the part.

Henson is basically a tweener

Too weak to guard 4's

Lack of offensive game to play the 3

I'd stay away

Meh. I don't like Henson. He reminds me too much of Brandan Wright.

He's another Ed Davis, Brandan Wright type guy. A long, lengthy UNC guy that they have hopes of developing an offensive game, but never does. He's one of the guys I DON'T want us taking.

Just from reading Draftexpress http://www.draftexpress.com/profile/John-Henson-5236/, I don't see this guy as soft. He lacks strength but has gained 37 pounds over his college career and seems to have the frame to add more strength and weight. here's some quotes:

"He is a fearsome shotblocker--one of college basketball's best--to the tune of 4.4 blocks per 40 minutes pace adjusted, and his timing and explosiveness, both on his first and second jumps, are almost unrivaled at this level. In addition, he commits just 2.4 personal fouls per 40 minutes pace adjusted, anomalous amongst elite shot blockers.

He is an outstanding rebounder, as well, averaging 13.9 rebounds per 40 minutes pace adjusted, which is one of the best rates amongst returning prospects in our database. His length and athleticism allow him to be all over the floor, and only improved fundamentals hold him back from being truly elite at any level.

"excellent motor" (that's one of the most important for me!) "average toughness" (that's not so good)

His ability here is enhanced even further by his coordination and balance, as he is very fluid going from move to counter move, and has no problem going up from awkward positions. He's very capable of finishing from areas of the court that would be difficult for other bigs, using his freakish length and smooth athleticism to extend up from under the rim, showing good ability to finish with both touch and power.

By the way, they have him projected at #8 now.

Sullinger looks like he has the size to play center:

6'10" (w/shoes)
281 Lbs.
7'1" wingspan

^I thought I heard Sullinger is a head case like Cousins.

I haven't heard anything like that. Maybe you're thinking of Fab Melo.

He makes Cousins look like a saint.

Long and athletic. Looks like a typical Blazer pick.... don't know.

From that scouting report he sounds a lot like Joakim Noah.
I think he is longer, more athletic and coordinated than Noah but not as powerful or with as much motor or desire (but who does have as much motor as Noah?) I think he has a good chance to be a better offensive player than Noah.
