John Hollinger predicts Greg Oden will win sixth man award

Idk but I agree Greg will be a big help off the bench this year. Him and Joel.

can you win the award if you dont play till february?

Well I do think it's highly likely that Greg does come off the bench for most of the season. By the time he's ready to roll it's still going to take him a good long while to get into full basketball shape and I imagine they'll look to monitor his minutes to try and prevent any setbacks.

You can obsessively post on a Blazers forum without being a fan. There is a precedence!
I have no doubt that Mixum is a fan. He's a brutally honest one, and he tends to see the glass half-empty sometimes, but he is definitely a fan. You guys really need to stop getting your panties in a knot everytime he posts something you don't like.

Does he post real opinions? Does he REALLY think Oden won't play until February? Is he willing to stand behind that prediction, or is he just trying to stir the pot?

When Greg plays his 50 games, most will be as a starter. I like Hollinger's honesty as an unbiased observer, but Greg won't be coming off the bench.

Here's something to chew on. Greg Oden is not -- in his present physical state -- a better player than Marcus Camby. Greg may eventually overtake him as the starter, but it's going to be awhile.

And one that lives 3000 miles away from Portland, and has never even been here...

Not that I care for Mixum, but does that mean there are boundaries to becoming a Blazers fan?

I see Mixum as a pessimistic fan. Nothing wrong with that at all.

This is apart of the process so he can come back stronger and live up to his #1 overall selection. This is a family. [/WWKPS] -(What would Kevin Pritchard say?)

When you claim your favorite team is 3000 miles away from your home, in a place you've never even been, it makes me suspicious that all your contoversial comments are trolling. I was born here, and grew up in the area. As a result, I root for the Seahawks and Blazers, the teams I've been exposed to every day of my life as a member of this community.

You don't pick your sports teams, they pick you.

Bullshit

Well, I have very big doubts. When a guy posts in the morning that Bayless is worthless, but right after he is traded the same day posts what a horrible mistake it is - it is pretty clear to me that he is just trying to stir shit. When a "fan" tells you that your team has one stud while another team has 2 - while simple statistics show you that your team's 2nd player is actually better than the 2nd stud of the other team - I agree he is a fan, he is a fan of trolling and stirring shit. He is not a fan of the team.

Basically.

This flies over certain mods heads though. Its kinda cute how they coddle that little wart.

I would not mind seeing Greg coming off the bench the whole year! If it helps him stay injury free, I'm all for it.

You're just copying off my answers ... I wish I would have thought to do that.

He would have to be severely disturbed to post this much about a team he doesn't care about. It just isn't likely. I believe he is a fan.

I also disagree with the last sentence.

Depending on how well Camby plays this year, I could see Greg coming off the bench. Whatever works and gets us to the next level.
