O'reilly really is a horrible debater.

I think there were points where Stewart had solid takes, and Bill had solid takes.

Although the part where Stewart confused deficit with debt was pretty bad for him. All in all, I think that my opinion of Bill improved because he showed up and did that.

Jon Stewart appears to be 100x smarter on his feet than the idiot O'Really, yet Stewart still made the basic mistake of confusing the debt with the deficit.

Then again, Stewart has a team of writers feeding him lines on his show.

But this wasn't his show. And getting the debt and deficit confused is really not that big a deal.

i really dont mind orielly, his stance on drugs, god and war is closeminded but he is actually fairly hip occasionally

Yeah, it actually is a pretty big deal for a "political expert" in a debate.

Whatever, though. I'm sure they both had fun doing it, and it was nice to see people have fun with politics for once. My respect for both men increased, and the reality is that I view Stewart more favorably than OhReally, anyhow.

I think there's a just a bit of nit picking here. People mix them up all the time. They go hand in hand.

Watched this earlier today, hilarious!

It's amazing how many people are with O'Reilly on bullshit mountain too. Actually no, not amazing...sad.

Expecting to see a bit of awareness or self-deprecating humour out of Bill-O but there was none. He is pompous to the core.

Thought Stewart's answer to the "save a famous person from fire" question was cheap. His spouse/children aren't famous and don't qualify.

Not nearly as fun as I was expecting this to be. Bill-O's cringe-inducing attempts at humour and Stewart's forced earnestness were a bit off-putting.

The elevator platform was really funny.

O'reilly at 20:33:

"If he's reelected the President, we'll have a 20 trillion dollar deficit even if he takes all your stuff."

Sounds like he doesn't know the difference between the debt and the deficit either...

i have to agree with everyone who said that this was alot crappier than i thought it would be, in their interviews they have done together they had decent chemistry, but this was hard to watch

noticed that too, although orielly just mispoke, stewart looked like he really didnt know that the deficit was already in the trillions when bush came in

No, it actually is an important distinction. It isn't ok to mix them up.

It's a common mixup. And it really doesn't matter if you talk about the complete debt and the deficit. It's all money owed. One is year by year and the other is the complete debt. You are nit picking.

Bill O'reilly also was on bullshit mountain when he said that WE would have to pay for Sandra Fluke's Birth control. NOOOOO

The insurance company has to pay NOT the tax payer. More crap from Bullshit mountain.

It definitely isn't nitpicking. Are you ok with a trillion dollar deficit every year forever? Are you ok with a trillion dollar debt every year forever? Those are likely very different answers.

O'reilly also gets pounded on foreign policy.

We had it right under Clinton when your guy took a 225 Bil Surplus and flushed it down the toilets of Iraq, Afghanistan, Medicare part D, and the Tax cuts that were all unpaid for.

Did you also think that Obama won the first debate with Romney?

What I think was Romney employed (you have to be a political junkie to know) The Gish Gallop. Throw as many bullshit lies at your opponent so that he spends more time countering your argument than making his point. It's well known.

In closing, Romney is a goddamn liar.

But Obama isn't?

You cannot deflect against your candidate by bringing up mine.
(well known RepubliCon tactic that is employed so much in this forum) Here's the bottom line:

Even your own kind doesn't like him. And tell the truth, neither do you..

Says the guy slamming Romney in a thread about Jon Stewart and O'reilly.

But since you said it's the "bottom line" it must be.

You just asked me about the debate! You brought it up! Just so you could try to see me squirm about Obama's performance.

And when I don't squirm and talk about Romney's lie after lie (he is a supporter of the Ryan budget) you attack me for answering your question. Typical Con.

All the while deflecting the fact that your whole party doesn't like their candidate. But they hate Obama so much that they'll vote for a windsock.

You still never answered the question. So yes, you did squirm.

Continue on with your aimless rants.

Probably the most funny vid I've seen in a long while. It actually deserves its own thread. Repped!!!!

Actually, it is a really big deal.

Makes me wonder if liberals can balance their checkbooks.

My turn to nitpick.

We're bound to have trillion dollar deficits every year at some point. Like maybe the year 2075 or 2150. At some point, GDP will be big enough to support those size deficits forever.
