Jorge Lorenzo won his second straight Spanish Grand Prix on Sunday after Casey Stoner and Marco Simoncelli crashed on the wet track.
"It was a hard race but I am happy with the win," Lorenzo said. "We had some luck, without the fall of Stoner we would not have won."
The defending MotoGP champion was 19.339 seconds faster than fellow Spaniard Dani Pedrosa, who recovered after falling to ninth early on. American Nicky Hayden finished third, 29.085 seconds off the pace, at the 2.7-mile Jerez Circuit.
"It was complicated, but I got a few breaks out there," Hayden said.
