Oregon receiver Josh Huff arrested early Saturday on DUII charge after being stopped for speeding
University of Oregon wide receiver Josh Huff faces a drunken-driving charge stemming from a traffic stop early this morning, a Eugene police spokesman said.
Huff, 20, was cited for driving under the influence of intoxicants after a police officer stopped his Chrysler Seville at the corner of 18th Avenue and Agate Street, near the UO campus, police said.
The officer had seen the vehicle speeding in the area before the 1:35 a.m. stop, police said.
Huff was compliant with officers at the scene, police said.
Huff, a 5-foot-11, 207-pound native of Houston, Texas, is Oregon’s top returning wide receiver for 2012, when he will be a junior. In 2011, Huff caught 31 passes for 430 yards and two touchdowns, despite playing through a lower leg injury that caused him to miss two games.
Huff also returned eight kickoffs as a sophomore, for 174 yards, a 21.8-yard average.
