I don’t hate the guy. It’s obvious he has some mental issues. Probably did this to try and get some press. Sure worked at first. Then people looked further into the story. That’s what everybody should strive to do. Look further into it. Don’t take everything at face value or you just look dumb when you make hot takes and the truth comes out a week later.

I wonder what motivates someone to think they can trick people like this, especially when a consequence of this is that the other people who actually WERE assaulted (etc) might not come forward.

The number of fake stories is heavily outweighed by the real stories and even more so by the stories that are never told. All this does is make those who were assaulted/attacked keep quiet because no one believes then. It totally gives people a reason to discount the real stories like this too.

It's like either these people are either really dense, really arrogant or completely and utterly oblivious to anything outside of their own little reality bubble. "Hey, I'm able to trick my friends, I bet I can trick everyone!"

IF it turns out that he did this on purpose, what exactly was the outcome he was hoping for? I'm guessing just attention? Is he selling a book? If he was hoping to change peoples minds (regarding "Maga" et al), this really wasn't the way to go.

Just wondering, I quickly read his wiki page (because outside of this thread I have no idea who this guy is), but it appears he did not go to college and only has a high school education.

So while I know that going to college does not mean you are smarter, it definitely feels like this is someone who thinks they are significantly smarter than he really is.
