I don't think I am out of line by posting this. I am just curious what the general population thinks of this.

Should we be able to vote people off the site? There are certain people who bother us to no end. Constantly dragging us and our beloved franchise threw the mud.

At what point does a few extra Google AdSense clicks become worth it? Are we being bullied by an internet forum and not banning people, for a few AdSense clicks? I would donate whatever "certain posters" generate just to not see them around.

Anyhow, I am curious what you all think of being able to vote posters off under extenuating circumstances.

I voted no. I don't think we need to be encouraging the formation of angry mobs. ;)

semi ironic coming from you, having been banned/suspended multiple times.

but no, it would become a cocksucking party, we dont all have to get along, and even the computer nerds can go to prom.

No, because as long as everyone is pissed at someone else, they are not looking at me.:tsktsk:

Absolutely not. People can do whatever they want on this site as long as they are within the site rules.

You are right. And if I was voted off the forum, I would accept it.

Good points guys. Thanks for the info. MIXUM just pissed me the hell off earlier and I am trying to figure out ways to get him gone besides flying to Buffalo !

I think everybody who gets worked up by another persons' own personal opinion should be banned.

I agree that it would be a bad idea to vote folks out. Especially when there is such an easy way to avoid having to do so: the ignore feature.

yeah but you can see when someone quotes someone you blocked.

kinda sucks.

I voted yes, because a lot of posters make this place suck, however, I downloaded FFVB for firefox which totally removes posters from the entire message board when you add them to the FFVB ignore list.

As in, I never see the word "MIXUM" on my screen. I was going to add PapaG, for the stupid avatar fiasco, but decided not to... lol. no hard feelings bro. :)

Bahahhaa!!! -falls out of his seat-

I like free speech, even if I don't agree with it. Actually, especially if I don't agree with it. I like to have my assumptions and viewpoints challenged; any good idea can withstand the crucible of debate.

I don't agree.

Free speech and the exercise of it is part of what makes this place unique.

Change that by holding kangaroo court every time someone gets their panties in a bind and this website will simply turn into a giant circle jerk.

I can't say that I consider many of the problem posters/threads to be bastions of intelligent debate. It's more like a handful of idiots screaming at the top of their lungs and everyone else just trying to talk around them, and occasionally everyone gets swept up into trying to explain logic/reason to people with less analytical skills than a toddler.

Opinions that I don't agree with terrify me.

At some point it's a good idea to cut off persons you disagree with. I've gone through a few bouts of that recently on Facebook, where family members were so obnoxious that I pretty much had to remove them because they were pissing off friends in pretty unhealthy ways. I was moderating my own board, in a sense.

Anyway, there's a Firefox extension that blocks people, so what's the big deal? The only people it sucks for are moderators, because (in theory) they shouldn't block anybody. But even if a mod has a problem with a particular poster, they should PM other mods and say, "I'm fed up with this guy. I'm blocking him. Please pick up the slack for me. If you all feel that way, we should remove him/her. Otherwise, please don't plan on me handling it."

I said no. My whole life I have had no problems making friends............ and enemies. People either like me or hate me. I think there are enough bitches on here that don't like me to get voted off the island in a heartbeat! Hope this doesn't become an option.
