Finally watching the first half of the Houston game. I am in the 1st qtr and Claver actually looks like he can play. Way to early to say he sucks. He needs more minutes.

one stat I haven't seen is bench scoring vs bench minutes played, that would give us a much better number to compare IMO

IMO they should have kep Asik and not paid Gibson, they have Boozer and could have picked up a cheap backup.

Freeland is at best your 3rd string C. Mohammed is #2 on the Bulls depth chart at C. Though I think they're playing no C a lot because Nazr basically is long past his prime.

Asik has a $15M paycheck for year 3 of his contract. The Bulls may actually pay the LT this season for the first time since Jordan retired (the first time). Taj's contract doesn't affect any year's payroll by as much as Asik's. Otherwise, Asik is a bargain at $5M/year for the first two.

Hey, for last night at least, it looked like we have a bench. As I've said, right now our bench is Price (who looked great, and actually was +15 to Lillard's -1), Jeffries (toldja) and Leonard. If we can gradually incorporate ONE more player, that would be nice. The good thing about those three is that they allow versatility (except for Leonard, who may swap places with the more versatile Hickson soon anyway): Price plays alongside Lillard sometimes and Jeffries can play any frontcourt position.

Hope Jeffries can stay healthy. By my count he's drawn 2 charges in each of the last two games.

Shoulda traded Noah (to us) and kept Asik. Or, maybe, just maybe, Reinsdorf shouldn't be so fucking cheap.

IMO we are only missing one guy for our bench. Albeit it is the most important. We need a mini microwave to come in and give us a spark.

Price is getting better each game at PG. Pavlovic gives us 10 quality minutes at the SF. (At least on D) Jeffries gives us a solid Vet in the post. (loved his game last night against Chicago) Leonard gives us minutes every other game. (Which we knew would happen-he needs his minutes to learn progress though)

This just leaves the spot where Elliot Williams would have helped.........a scoring sG. Right now it is not a factor the way Terry is substituting. It will be a factor if Nic or Wes get hurt.

As for minutes, last night was fine if LMA had only played 3-4 minutes less. Which easily could have gone to JJ who only played 25.

Price has hit a couple, but I never have faith that they'll go. I guess Pavlovic is that guy, and his defense hasn't been horrible, but he's just so bleh. And of course that's ALL that Babbitt can do. I just hope Claver can pull it together, because he can hit threes and he fits fairly seemlessly into the game. But ideally we need another guard. Barton is too wild and plays with blinders on at the moment.

I think we have plenty of guys who can hit a wide open 3pt shot. As you mentioned Pav, Babbitt, and Price all can do that. What I meant to say is someone who can create his own shot. That is what the bench lacks. And I would prefer it be a SG

But I'd rather not have to PLAY Pavlovic and Babbitt, precisely because that's ALL they can do. If Price was a reliable three point shooter, then we'd be golden. Maybe he is, but I don't get that impression.

I know what you meant, and I was disagreeing that that was really necessary. I don't necessarily want a bench player that comes in and starts jacking up shots. I want a bench that works as a unit. Right now the Bulls don't really have ANY scorers, but they're still pretty good because they run their offense. The % of baskets that were assisted last night was astronomical.
