LeBron James was most likely going to go to Ohio St. if he entered college after high school.Just imagine..LeBron goes to college, and stay all 4 seasons. His senior season, Oden and Conley step on to the campus.Imagine how freaking dominant that team could have been last season. They would not have lost a game.Just imagine...

YAWNthis has been said like 5000 times aND I IMAGINE THAT things would have been different for coloney had LBJ gone there - I also imagine that oden might have gone somewhere else as two massive stars like that could drop eachothers numbers and effect thier value come drsaft day..So really it would have beeen extremely unlikely that would ever have happened

I was pretty sure someone had probably mentioned it, but I hadn't seen anything. I've talked about this a lot with my manager at work, and it had just popped in my head so I just wanted to see what other people thought about it.

Imagine of Amare came to Memphis...we woulve had Darius Washington, Amare, Kendrick Perkins, Qyntel Woods and probably Dejaun Wagner(rumored he left cause he though memphis wasnt going anywhere unless they get Amare). Woods and Perkins wouldve been good in college, Washington wouldve been very solid, and we saw what Dejaun did as a freshman...and Amare wouldve been Amare.

We'll see about that.Eric Gordon >>> Derrek RoseD.J. White >>> Any of your forwardsEli Holman >>> The best center in the Big 10 next year?

Watch out for Douglas-Roberts. I think he is going to light up a few teams next year.

Andobviously you dont know memphis cause memphis is NOT about star power, so its more of depth thing. Antonio Anderson can play foward, CDR, Jeff RobinsoN and Robert Dozier. And Joey Dorsey might be the best big man defender in the nation...good defense stops good offense. Memphis>Indiana.Anyways, CDR is going to be a star next year, and I think Dozier is going to have a real breakout season, not to mention Derrick Rose will probably be a instant star.

Gordon was ranked as the best guard in the nation on pretty much every site I looked at. IU has a lot of depth, IU has a full roster full of shooters and slashers. Plus there's Chris Kramer who scored 20 something against the Gators in the NCAA tournament this year as a freshman. Eli Holman is a tremendous bundle of athletiscism and defensive potential. D.J. White is regarded as one of the best forwards in the nation. I don't think depth will be a deciding factor in any competition between Memphis and IU. The 4 players I mentioned are capable of winning games themselves.

Okay
rolleyes.gif
They are better than a elite 8 team that is only getting better with its current players, and is getting the BEST guard in the nation plus another high propest. Not to mention that transfer that was top100 but was injured his freshman year.

Memphis has the incoming Morris twins.. Markieff Morris is ranked higher than your Holman dude. Derrick Rose is the 2nd ranked PG in the nation behind Mayo. Gordon is ranked the best SG. Memphis has a better recruiting class and Calipari is a better coach.Advantage: Memphis

Oh, did I mention that IU is getting the #1 juinor college player in the nation? And they're also getting his teamate, who is in the top 10 junior college players in the nationEric Gordon is the best guard in the nation, every reliable source states thatEli Holman is 6'11" which provides a monster interior forceD.J. White is an extremely polished athlete who can dominate any frontcourtChris Kramer is an outstanding scorer and shooter, and should compliment Gordon extremely well when Gordon kicks it out after venturing into the lane

Holman is 6'9'' 210 and is 15th C. Markeiff Morris is 6'9'' 215 and is 12th C. Memphis is getting his twin brother who is also one of the best SFs in the nation.

I heard the Morris twins arent coming until the season after next. Im not sure how exactly that works..but something I read. But if you add them...we're even more kickass.

so? the holman rankings are messed up cause he was suspended and that hurt his stock, but he's matured and he's ready, he'd be much higher ranked if he hadn't been suspended

Scout.com... They scout talent. They don't have to watch 10+ games to see their weaknesses/strengths. Sometimes less than five can be enough to tell them.

Please tell me where these sources are that say Gordon is better than Rose? Indiana.com?Everything Ive seena s Rose higher...even 2008 mock drafts have Rose being taken 1st overall...which the last guard to be project to be 1st overall was Allen Iverson(thats if you dont consider LeBron a guard).

dude, NBA rankings have nothing to do with college. If they did JJ Reddick would've been the first pick in the draft last year. The NBA is all about potential, that's what Rose has, everyone knows Gordon is ready to start winning, he's a complete player already

That proves Rose is better..and like I said, take Rose outve the equation and Memphis is STILL probably better. Jeff Robinson is supposed to be awesome, him alone as a addition with the transfer will still make us better than IU. And if we werent better, why are we ranked #1 overall in preseason rankings, and yall are ranked...#9th?

PFF, are you serioulsy trying to say Indiana is better than Memphis? Because I think that is what I'm getting out of this. If you are, you're very wrong. I hate the Tigers but I'm going to have to defend them here. Memphis is pre-season ranked the #1 team in the nation. They have most of there players coming back from last season. This is a team that went to the Elite 8. Where was Indiana? Not only do they have all those players, but they have one of the best recruits coming out of HS in Derrick Rose. Ever heard of Douglas-Roberts? Antonio Anderson? Joey Dorsey? All very good players who are probabaly better than the guys you mentioned. And I laugh when you say depth wouldn't become a factor if Indiana played Memphis because to beat Memphis, you have to play depth. Have you seen Memphis play? They run and gun the whole 40 mins. of the game, so those 4 players you mentioned would have to get a rest, so then who are you going to put in against one of the best benches in the NCAA?

I never thought I would live in a day where a Vols fan defended the Tigers...well you did say you hated them. Pacerfan, hes only stating the obvious...any fan who isnt a complete homer will tell you Memphis is better than IU.

Actually, to be honest, I've never heard of any of those Memphis frontcourt players except for DorseyTo be honest, none of these scouting services know squat, they don't watch any games or nothing, they just tell you what they've heard, the rumors, Eric Gordon is a great shooter, and a good passer, rebounder, and defenderWho cares if Memphis runs, all 4 main IU players are very athletic and can run, plus it's only 40 minutesPreseason rankings mean nothing. LSU was ranked in the top 10 last year's preseason rankings, Duke was ranked in the top 15, Butler was unranked, eventual champs Florida was ranked 3rd. Where was George Mason in the preseason rankings 2 years ago?You guys are going off of a bunch of hoo ha

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>To be honest, none of these scouting services know squat, they don't watch any games or nothing, they just tell you what they've heard, the rumors, Eric Gordon is a great shooter, and a good passer, rebounder, and defender</div>Like you know. :rolleyes:Please actually look at the page. There are videos of him playing in games, and interviews by Scout.com. Go look at the past rankings also, and please show me someone who was rated a 5-Star and didn't live up to it. Scout.com and Rivals.com are the two best recruiting sites whether it is scouting football, basketball, or baseball. Scout gives the best information, but Rivals gives better ratings. These aren't rumors, these are ratings from scouts. If you ever watch ESPN, they talk to Scout.com people all the time. Scout and Rivals are legit. Just because you don't know about them does not mean they are fake. These people are accurate and know their stuff, so next time do some research before making yourself look stupid.BTW, look at the teams you named that didn't live up to their ratings. LSU and Duke both played in arguably the best two conferences in the nation. Memphis is playing in the CUSA. Pretty much no competition, so their rank shouldn't go down, because I doubt they lose a game in the cupcake league. Look at last year's team. I don't remember, but I think they won 20-30 straight games. They didn't crumble against real competition either, so don't say they did or will this year.
Actually, to be honest, I've never heard of any of those Memphis frontcourt players except for Dorsey
Well, I never heard of the other 2 players you mentioned except for DJ White and Eric Gordon.
Who cares if Memphis runs, all 4 main IU players are very athletic and can run, plus it's only 40 minutes
Those 4 players won't be able to stay in the whole game against Memphis, and if you think they'd be able to, thennn...no comment. Memphis runs hard the whole 40 minutes. And, when Memphis' good bench comes in the game, compared to Indiana's bench, that is where Memphis will take over.
Preseason rankings mean nothing.
You don't have to be a genius to put Memphis up there. They have every player coming back from last season! Plus they're adding one of the top recruits in the Nation, who I think it better than Eric Gordon. This team went to the Elite 8! Where was Indiana last season?
You guys are going off of a bunch of hoo ha
And what are you going off of? You're just being too biased to realize how much better Memphis is than Indiana, and you're trying to find excuses such as what sites are reliable. I haven't seen one good reason Indiana should be rated higher than Memphis from you.I'd even go as far as saying my Tennessee Vols would beat your Indiana Hoosiers.

Seriously...Memphis is much better then Indiana. Rose is better then Gordon. These are cold hard facts. And whoever hasn't heard of scout.com or rivals.com, how is it possible to pay attention to your team's recruiting without ever knowing about those sites? They are top notch.

You also keep talking about IUs "4" players...Memphis will probably be the deepest team in the nation next year...we have about 8 or so guys that can light any team up any given night. Short of Dorsey. every player we will practicly put on the court(with Coop being gone) has the 3 point range, all are extremely versitle and good quick defenders. And no to mention if you compare our 4 best players, with your 4 best players..we are still better than IU.And seriously PFF, you have a Vols fan...A VOLS FAN..saying Memphis is better. Theres just as much bad blood between the Tigers and Vols as there is in the Duke-Tarheel rivalry.
