I can't wait till it arrives. The fucking thing can power up to 8 27" apple displays!!!!!

My specs:

3.0 GHz 8-core with 25MB of L3 cache
32GB of 1866MHz DDR3 ECC Ram
1TB PCIe-based flash storage
Dual AMD FirePro D700 GPUs with 6GB of GDDR5 VRAM each
(2) 27" Apple Thunderbolt Displays

Added:
Logic Pro, Final Cut Pro and Pro-tools
External Thunderbolt 2 storage (PROMISE Pegasus2 R8 32 TB - 8 by 4TB) RAID System.

PM Denny about how to install Ubuntu on it.

Mags has finally taken a step into the Porn production industry.

When are we going to see those sex tapes with you and the Mrs?

What is that, like 10 grand?

Damn mags... you could have bought that computer from "War Games" for that kind of money.

Do you want to play Thermo Nuclear War?

Actually the $599 Mac mini would suffice for that

Hahahaha! Seriously though, the worst thing for recording is when you get stupid shit like "HD not fast enough, not enough RAM, or the app lags when multiple effects are used."

When you record in 24 bit, 26-30 tracks and multiple effects, shit really lags big time.

no shit, if you're gonna rev pro-tools like that you gotta have a beastly processor at least

what kind of gear are you playing with? or is it just beep boop techno?

All live shit man. Mainly rock/alternative. I'm producing an album for my daughter. I'm also producing for a Christian album too.

The cool thing about Logic Pro is the virtual drummer. They have 15 different drummers that actually work really well!

I can't even fathom that much RAM. I think I have 8 gigs right now, plus 2 gigs on my video card. I've never done any serious video editing though.

With Logic running virtual drummer, a few synths, 3 effects per track and 24 tracks take up about 40% of your ram at 16 gigs.

The best part about this computer is the 8 core because logic utilizes the virtual cores. That's what really slows shit down. Now you have 64 virtual freeways in processing

So I'm curious, and maybe you can't answer this, but is one computer with that much power better than having four computers working together?

This is way above my knowledge with computers, but I'm just curious if you can have four computers sinked?

Sinked? Why would you want to drown your computer?

I don't think that really works, although protools has the HD systems; which basically adds processing to each PCI slot, basically like running up to I think 6 computers at once.

Then you don't even need much processing from your main CPU.
