I was a pretty big fan of him taking out Osama Bin Laden...something we'd been trying to do for the better part of a decade...he said he'd get him and he did
 
If Obama nominates a conservative judge, republicans may approve.

Otherwise, they can and should block any appointee.

On the TV show West Wing, a justice died. In order to get an uber liberal justice approved, they got one of the other justices to retire and the president appointed an uber conservative and an uber liberal to replace the two. Not an impossible scenario.

Trump is going to pick the next bunch of justices.

Trump is the favorite to win the republican nomination at this point. Sorry to see it.

Hillary is going to be in jail or indicted. I heard on CNN yesterday that there are 150 FBI agents working on building the case and that it involves the email server and ties to the Clinton foundation, and I heard Marc Rich (controversial Clinton pardon) mentioned.

The marquee battle, of course, is the one that takes place in November against the Democratic standard bearer. That may or may not be Hillary Clinton; hacking and wheezing her way through a stump speech in Des Moines the other day, the former first lady seems more consumptive than presumptive. Meanwhile, waiting in the wings are upwards of 150 FBI agents, delving into her careless handling of national-security secrets via her private e-mail server.

The court is balanced: 5-4 actually for left wing agenda. To replace a conservative justice with a liberal one would tilt it. The republicans have the power to approve or not. Why SHOULD they approve someone who'd tilt the court way to the left?

I was thinking the same thing, thank you as well.

Going back to your long term VS short term comment, I see much of what you defend the POTUS, I see as failures. The very definition of short term, self serving results. Wall Street? Really? What did he do? The Bankers? Hmm, three guys went to jail...three. Oh, and nobody of any importance. Lets see..how about he Fed Reserve..the only President to go after that bunch of crooks was TDR. How about QE? Ahh last I knew just printing money to prop up a faltering economy was not a good thing..Detroit? Well. buying GM to sell them after tons of cash infusion, to the labor union then to go after them for failed management while being an asset of the government...kind of a fail to me....forcing Chrysler to sell to Fiat? Dont even get me started. Foreign policy is universally considered a fail. Lastly, any reasonable person over the age of thirty can not fail to see the the division in the country has been a byproduct of this administration due directly to the actions of the sitting POTUS.

I have no doubt Trump will be the GOP candidate but I think whoever wins the Dem nomination will actually embarrass Trump in any debate they have. This all revolves around my belief that the voting public is smarter than the Trumpettes that are just enjoying being angry

If Hillary is indicted... Bernie has been saying the emails is no big deal. What does that say about his judgment?

Actually my retirement accounts were gutted at the end of the Bush administration, they've now recovered. Detroit is thriving...the auto industry is finally competing in the world market again and the crook who policed Wall Street (Bernie Madoff) is in prison...our army has streamlined, we have friends and allies again ...which Reagan got a lot of praise for in his administration. The division to me in the country has existed since Nixon. I worked for Nixon in communications for the command ship of the 7th fleet....never was there a more corrupt president. I can't detail or cut and paste articles propping up my beliefs, but I'm much less stressed now at the end of Obamas term than I was at the end of Bush's term.

I'm long term..not immune. I put in my contribution monthly and ride it out...actually rewarded recently by staying the course and right now, my advisors are buying cheap for me. I've learned not to panic on the roller coaster ride.
