I have to say...and I'm certainly not the first to say this...but Kanter's reputation as a defensive sieve was greatly exaggerated. Sure, he's nothing like Nurkic on defense but he isn't a disaster either. And on the other end of the floor, he's been the 2nd best Blazer. Look at these advanced stats:

One of the more respectable people in the world today. WAY more respectable than our president and I say that being a republican.

Dude plays with a separated shoulder. Dude makes huge life long impactful family decisions to support freedom over being selfish and staying with his family. That is the ultimate sacrifice right there and most people would not do this and just let the atrocities around him continue. But no. This man has principles not found in many humans today!!!!

Plus..Enes is dating a pro wrestler? That makes him even cooler..
 
There always a way to keep someone and Kanter already got his big contract so maybe he does decided take a hit to stay. There are few players going get there's but the rest of the players going get the mid levels type ccontracts.

How does that compare to the regular season? It seems like Enes has really stepped up and improved in all those areas. Where he's really improved is his playoff defense, IMO.

it's actually not too far off his regular season marks, especially after he became a starter. But that would be expected considering the Lillard effect. When players start logging more minutes on the floor with Dame their numbers are going to get better

I'm with Kanter on this 100%. I actually have an ex girlfriend, Ozge, who is in prison right now in Turkey indefinitely just for protesting. It's a crazy situation, and Erdogan needs to go. He has turned a really beautiful country into a hellhole.

Haha. We were a couple about 5 years ago. She ended up hating Portland (she was mainly just homesick) and we broke up when she moved back to Istanbul. I have kept in contact with her as much as I could, but found out from her sister that she is currently in prison as a dissident. It sucks. She is a really sweet human and doesn't deserve a life like that. Still kind of heartbroken over it.

That really sucks. Can you write her or would mail from the US only cause her more trouble?

I really hope so as well. Under the current administration though, I honestly don't see it happening. It's pretty depressing. She deserves better than that.

It does for me, so am curious, any time she mentioned Istanbul, did this run through your head?

She isn't allowed anything. Ozge is basically dead to the rest of the world. I only know about all of this because her sister added me on Facebook like 5 years ago on a whim.
