Haha. We were a couple about 5 years ago. She ended up hating Portland (she was mainly just homesick) and we broke up when she moved back to Istanbul. I have kept in contact with her as much as I could, but found out from her sister that she is currently in prison as a dissident. It sucks. She is a really sweet human and doesn't deserve a life like that. Still kind of heartbron over it.

You know by now the Turkish media is completely ignoring the fact that he is a successful NBA player. Yet, he was a front page news in the websites of most Turkish newspaper because of ONE idiot yelling "Go back to Turkey! Oh wait, you can't". It was news to show how USA NBA fans are fed up with him, how he was provocative in the game and he got in a fight and punished by the referees. The problem is that the press is owned by huge multi-national corporations that don't give a shit about the truth, or about preserving democracy. They care about making money and they care about protecting their interests. Period.
