Okay, so here's a funny interaction. The Blazers currently don't own a 2nd round pick. They have the Hawks 2nd round pick but ONLY if it falls within 31-40 (it goes to OKC otherwise). That means the Hawks have to be the 10th or worst team in the league.

Right now the Blazers are the 10th worst team.

The 11th? The Hawks. We are only one game behind them.

So if the Blazers keep winning and overtake the Hawks, they may lose one spot in the first round, but gain a second rounder.

Would you go from 10th to 11th in order to get that second round pick?

Nfw. They need a better pick than 10. I honestly don’t know what they are thinking. Tonight was a perfect example of how bad the team is. Teams far better than POR are ahead in the lotto. Ownership doesnt care about being good. Jody was a drama major in college and her brother was a genius.

10th seed in the lottery has a 14% chance of a top-4 pick.
11th has a 9% chance
12th has a 7% chance
13th has a 5% chance

it would be typical of dumb Blazer outcomes this season to drop from a 14% shot at a top-4 pick to a 9% or 7% 0r 5% in order to land a 39th pick

Odds don’t matter. All that matters is the result:

That’s funny, they are the hottest team in the league over the last some games and left literally the entire team intact for the sake of giving them a a chance to continue building together.

take doesn’t make any sense, considering they’re… winning

Shouldn't they beat some good teams before we declare them to be one?

There's also a chance that we lose our 1st rounder.

Who are they beating in a 7 game series of playoff ball?

Hey maybe Joe and Schmitz have a target that they think is the missing piece in the late lotto. I'm very frustrated with the seeming rudderless way that our franchise isn't being directed but there is every possibility in the world that I'm just not seeing the right angles here.

Or a trade this summer. If they are looking to be competitive for a playoff berth next year, they should be thinking of trading current veteran players who don’t fit long term for ones that do.

Especially when last year they sold the 40th pick for cash
