Jaden Ivey looks absolutely nasty. Davis was my favorite wing just cuz he reminded me of BRoy, but Ivey is right there with him. The kinda separation he creates with his handle and elite quickness is insane. Those fast twitch muscles and his tremendous body control will allow him to go to the hoop with regularity. I think he can be an elite at getting to the line in the NBA. I hate that we're loaded with guards and probably won't draft him if we're in position to, but think he could be the best player in the draft if he ends up on the right team.

I also like my Donovan Mitchell comp for him more than Ja because of his shooting.

I’d have no problem taking him even if we don’t need a guard. Kid seems to have that IT factor

he's got STAR written all over him if he can stay healthy. Could be a great 6th man for us initially, who then climbs to a starter later on.

Kinda like Harden in OKC.

Duren looks like he has a very nice future. An NBA body like that at 18 is impressive. Chet just screams bust to me.

I agree with both of those statements. Chet a bust only because he will go too high. If he went late Lottery he'd be fine but he will likely go top 3 and therefore disappoint.

Yeah, the more I watch, the less impressed I am with the bigs projected for the lottery. Not that they can't develop into special players, but as usual they are not complete players yet. So the risk is certainly there. We do not want to pass up a good wing player just to fill our PF need unless we are somewhat sure of the pick.

If we can get a legit SF who is 6'8"+ and NBA ready at 3-D then yeah go for it. That said, we ought to draft the best guy 6'8"+ who is available.

He reminds me so much of Collin Sexton
games sorta similar but I think Ivey can be a bonafide SG with playmaking skills in the NBA. he's 3 inches taller than Sexton. Sexton had great speed in fast breaks, but Ivey has ridiculous quickness even in half court situations.

There is so much content here if you wanna do a deep dive.

How he managed to put together over an hour and half of video for Sharpe is impressive.

I sat through over an hour of that Jaden Ivey video. This is Dwyane Wade at Marquette. I dunno how you pass on a guy like that if he's available.

Available when? Who do up like better for us or would you take him #1?
I think Jabari is still my number one because he's BPA AND fits a positional need for us. But Ivey is up there talent wise in the top 3. I'm just assuming a hypothetical scenario where we have possibly #4 and the top 3 bigs are off the board. I would not hesitate to pull the trigger on him just because we're loaded with guards. Think his ceiling projects better than anyone on our roster not named Dame.

A week ago you were telling me Ivey doesn't project better into the NBA and now hes top 3 and you wouldnt hesitate to select him? What?

Is it too soon to start a series of threads to determine a forum big board? Probably should wait until after the tourney, yeah?

I'll give you mine

1. Chet
2. Jabari
3. Ivey
4. Duren
5. Banchero

Think Joe will retain his GM position? Or is there a candidate waiting in the wings before draft?
When should the Blazers give him a vote of confidence and announce he's now the new GM?

Wouldnt be surprised if we saw a president of basketball ops hire with Cronin as GM. Kinda like Pritchard/Buchanan in Indy. I'm thinking Brent Barry or Tayshaun. Barry is VP of Basketball ops right now for the Spurs, would be a natural promotion.

i wanna wait til the combine to be honest. need those measurements.

It's also unfortunate, you probably can't get these guys to go at each other in workouts anymore. Woulda been cool to see Ivey-Davis go after each other, or Jabari-Paolo.

I'll probably start several successive threads with polls for people to vote for their top pick at each spot, eliminating the player receiving the plurality of votes for the prior pick. I'll be very curious to see how it all shakes out, and hope it doesn't end up as just a mirror of the common mocks.

They should have already figured out the requirements they have for Joe keeping the job. It's possible that one of those requirements is Joe's gamble with the Pelican's pick paying off. So, I think they should be able to make the decision on Joe either right after the play in or on the night of the draft lottery at the latest. I think they should and probably already have been talking to Joe's competition for the position. They should have someone in place as the permanent GM before the playoffs end.

I really hope Cronin doesn't keep the position. The CJ trade only looks good to some of you because you buy that you have to take back significantly less value if you want to lower your future cap numbers. That's a bad precedent that Joe set. He very clearly made a bad deal with the Clippers and people can talk about the three million dollars over the luxury tax like it's an actual excuse for how shitty that deal was but it's not close to a good one. Even sending a promising young player like Alexander-Walker out and getting a seriously injured Joe Ingles' bird rights, a late second rounder this year, a future second rounder and a tryout for Elijah Hughes is not equal value for what we sent out. So I'm saying that Cronin has pretty much made three moves and all of them have taken back less value than they sent out.

I hope we get a new GM with absolutely no ties to the previous GM and I hope whoever that new GM is majorly shakes up the front office that has kept us treading water for almost a decade of Dame's career. We just need a fresh perspective on this roster and a new vision for our future in my opinion.

I'm going to wait to see where we end up with the pick before I worry about who we're gonna draft....

Lottery and combine all come together in mid-May. You'll be welcome to participate vociferously in the post-combine big-board compilation threads.

May 17th is a huge day for this franchise. The results of the play ins will have a big impact on just how huge of a day May 17th is but regardless, it's a big deal.

I do think they have a new gm in mind. Barry, Prince, Battier, Hill could be consideration for GM and move Joe to Pres BO's.
