Kenny Vance Just Threw KP Under The Bus

If KP gets fired, it's because he bruised the ego of some incompetent jackhole at Vulcan.

If KP gets fired, whether or not I hang on to my season tickets will depend heavily on how it's handled and who they bring in to replace him.

I don't have any disagreement with those two criticisms.

I'm doubtful Vance knows much more than I do about the interpersonal relationship between PA/Allen and BW/Allen. I mean jesus, Paul Allen is dealing with cancer now. How do you compare Paul Allen now to where Paul Allen was 8 years ago?

Webster has a reasonable salary. He's easily tradeable still. Not for a lot of value, but he's no albatross. Had he improved like we all hoped, he'd be a good value. But you don't always get progress.

I don't even know what "depends on the scouting team too much" means. Is he saying KP should go off his own gut more because over-reliance on scouts has led to multiple bad draft decisions? Obviously, that's BS...

Actually, Kenny was very connected with Trader Bob. That was back when KV worked for the Columbian, and was on the afternoon show for 910 The FAN. I was an intern at that time with The FAN and Kenny was close with Bob. I have no idea, however, what his relationship with KP is.

Ahhh...I remember the "You got Pritch-Slapped" days over on BBF....memories

Anyone that thinks the RLEC was a huge mistake is an idiot.

Richard Jefferson? Ha.
Vince Carter? Ha.
Gerald Wallace? Was intriguing, but I like Batum too much.
Andre Miller? Oh, he signed him in the off-season, so he didn't give up any players for him.

Again, show me where the huge mistake was.

All of that shit was cringe inducing then and it seems kind of comical now. I always sort of wondered when the shine was going to wear off on KP -- especially when it came down to how he handled the truly difficult decisions about paring down the roster and making impact trades.

Oh well.

I was just laughing thinking about how many times I've read posts about how KP is incapable of making a mid-season trade and KP will never trade Blanky or Travis because he's just too close to his players and they are his favorites and Travis is Roy's best friend on the team and Roy can only play with Blanky, and KP overvalues his players and he can't part with anyone, and certainly never part with Blanky or Travis, yada, yada, yada. I wonder if those people even noticed that, at the first possible opportunity, KP traded both Travis and Blanky for Marcus Camby? I have no idea what trades KP has actually floated with other teams, but I have a hard time believing someone with his clear grasp of talent and team chemistry would pass on any trade that would improve the team.

And barring someone possessing a really foolproof crystal ball with the ability to accurately predict future injuries, Oden was and still is the best choice for this Blazers team. I'd have drafted Oden over Durant 10 times out of 10.
