Aldridge has a couple moves that he can use regularly and get his shot off almost whenever he wants, and manage a respectable shooting % with it.

Love gets his shot blocked as much as anyone in the NBA. There's a reason him and Zach Randolph lead the NBA in offensive rebounds. Love also think it's a good idea to average two 3pt attempts a game.

Love post all-star break shot 43% from 2 and 28% from 3. Terrible.

It doesn't take a genius to figure out Aldridge is a more talented player than Love.

well knowing him personally and being pretty decent friends with kevin, anyone who thinks he is cocky is seriously misinformed. He is one of the more humble guys i know and being at the level he is at right now definitely has not changed his attitude. for the whole LA vs. Klove arguement....i think its obvious LA is the better fit for the blazers considering his length and honestly he is a better defender then kevin and much more athletic. BUT, Kevin bring s amuch tougher work ethic and tougher attitude which we all know is needed on this blazer team...SO what if....we had both??? from what i know....i dont think klove would mind coming off the bench on a contender and with him coming off our bench dont you think that may be exactly what we would be? hes like a dejuan blair verajao type guy who can also stretch the D with outside shooting sometimes. with them just signing beasley maybe they would entertain offers for our only homegrown NBA standout

That's the best assessment of Kevin Love that I've read, at least in terms of being realistic. Love could be a very, very valuable role player on a good (or even great) team. Let him rebound, shoot, and pass, but also don't allow him to be a critical cog on defense. I like Kevin Love's game in terms of his obvious strengths; what I don't think is fair is when Aldridge is needlessly bashed in comparison, because they are dissimilar players in terms of style.

I don't think he meant work ethic. Though I've heard that Love was a tireless worker, he is notorious for several hour workouts with his dad and Wes Unseld as a high school player.

I think it's very arguable. The fact that Aldridge isn't a very good rebounder or post scorer is much more likely to be an issue of talent, rather than toughness. I think it's much more plausible that he simply isn't good at those things than that he's simply frightened.

The idea that rebounding and inside play only requires "toughness" and, therefore, anyone who doesn't do it lacks toughness is silly, IMO. Rebounding and post scoring is every bit a skill/talent as anything else, like passing, shooting, etc. If Aldridge lacks those skills/talents, he could be as tough as anyone and still not do well at those things.

Love is a great rebounder Per 48 minutes. Watch the guy, he uses his square-shaped body well, always using his tush to box out players. A trait that made Wes Unseld a great rebounder. Its toughness that makes LA a horrible rebounder for his position. He has all the tools, long and athletic. He just doesn't want it enough, I also notice he gets bumped aside for rebounds all too often.

Length and athleticism aren't enough for rebounding (just as explosiveness and athleticism aren't enough for scoring). It also requires skill and/or talent (it's sometimes arbitrary trying to isolate the difference between skill and talent). It isn't clear at all that what Aldridge is missing is desire/toughness. He may be missing the skills/talent. Not everyone can be good at everything, no matter how much they want it.

What made Buck Williams, Dennis Rodman, Charles Barkley, Laimbeer, Malone all good rebounders? They were tough as nails. Toughness has a lot to do with it. You got to use your body, something Aldridge is afraid to do or something that Mo Lucas and the staff has never taught him.

Whats the "skill" that seperates good rebounders from bad ones. I know Rodman was a rare bird who studied the way certain players missed shots and the spin of the ball. But, whats that skill you speak of that makes Dwight Howard a good rebounder and Aldridge a shitty one?
