That’s ironic! Are those rules that can be changed by the majority though? They will simply just change the rules if that’s the case.

The sane thing would be put forward a moderate Republican who can work with both parties and get support from Democrats. But I am not sure there are any moderate Republicans left. It's Trump's party and they'll cry if he wants to. (Sorry Leslie Gore)

Seems like they'll keep applying public pressure to the holdouts until the MAGA hoards can scare them enough to support Jordan. It appears to be working and barring something unexpected I expect Jim Jordan to be speaker in fairly short order.

Jim Jordan is worse than Trump, IMO. He's far smarter and more sinister.

Sean Hannity calling Republicans to pressure them into supporting Jordan. Never got a bill passed. Just yells a lot.
 
With Scalise tried, he got one vote and then the Jordan backers said you had your chance move on, funny how they are changing their tune now. Nothing like threatening your way to the speaker podium.

Tito Vazquez says he still remembers the day three decades ago when, as a wrestler at Ohio State University, the doctor he’d gone to see about a bloody nose insisted on examining his genitals. He also recalls how one of his coaches dismissed his immediate complaint.

“‘I have nothing to do with this,’” Vazquez quoted the assistant coach saying, as he effectively ended the conversation and went on with wrestling practice.

That coach, Vazquez says, was Jim Jordan, now an Ohio congressman and an influential voice in Republican politics, perhaps best known for his pugnacious defense of President Donald Trump during the recent impeachment proceedings.

Just fucking stop running Republican Gestapo members and insurrectionists for any office of leadership. Accountability needs to kick in now. Enough with the hate fueled MAGA fuckheads. Bring any adult to the job with a level head. That means NO MAGA election deniers period.
 
There is no constitutional basis for keeping a speaker pro tem until January. Is he second in line for presidency?

Republicans threw out their speaker with no plan what to do next.
