I'm hearing too much about this trade that almost went down. It didn't happen Kobe, Bynum wasn't given up for Kidd, Kupchak made a decision which alot of people wouldn't agree with. Sadly, that's what you get for having Kupchak as your GM, if the Lakers want to revamp their team, it has to start by firing Kupchak. He's made so many bad moves, he didn't make a single big move this off-season when Kobe actually threatened to leave, who could ever forget the trade he made: Caron Butler for Kwame Brown. Jerry Buss should definitely consider getting Kupchak out of the front office, he's been nothing but a failiure.

The problem with Jason Kidd and the Nets, is that his contract is so huge that it decreases his value. He is older too, so you aren't going to get a team throwing multiple assets to get him. Hinrich would be fair value.</p>

From the Nets perspective, I see it as them clearing capspace, and gettin ga good point guard. I think most Nets fans would agree that they aren't going to win a championship with Kidd in the coming years, unless a huge steal of a trade comes along. </p>

Then from Chicago's perspective, Kidd works. With his size, Jason Kidd works pretty good in the backcourt with Ben Gordon, and he'll be creating so much for Chicago's great scorers in Gordon, Nocioni, and Deng, and then creating for the athletic bigs in Noah and Thomas. It'd be a good fit for the Bulls. Then longterm, the Bulls have to turn to either turning Gordon into a point guard, or making Duhon the long term starting point guard, which might not be so bad. </p>

I enjoy Kidd's play, and as a Bulls fan, I'd much rather have Kidd than Kobe.</p>

Well you don't wanna throw a max contract at an older player unless you think they're worth it, and you want to win a championship. Both the Bulls and the Nets are contending teams, so each team would want Kidd for those same reasons. Had the Nets really wanted to switch gears and go to a cap clearing team, we wouldn't have resigned Carter, and we would have already traded Kidd.</p>

And Hinrich is a good player but compared to Kidd he's nothing. A serious offer for Kidd would be Duhon, Tyrus, and Sefalosha perhaps?</p>

Even with Kidd on the Lakers, they're chances to come out of the Western conference with the Suns, Spurs, and Mavericks in the same conference is worse than the Nets' chances to come out of the East presently.</p>

Neither the Lakers with Kidd and Kobe, nor the Nets as presently constructed are championship teams, but I'd take my chances with Vince Carter, Richard Jefferson, Nenad Krstic, and Jamaal Magloire, and the Nets' bench than what Kobe has around him now </p>

The Bulls, Cavs, Celtics, Pistons, Heat, Raptors, Nets, and Wizards all have a chance to reach at least the ECF. Each has a very good team, but are flawed as well.</p>

Kidd and LeBron I get. Those two were made for eachother. Kidd and Kobe I don't get but i'm sure LA would love to pair Kobe up with another star. I know the thinking is combine a great PG with the most potent offensive force in the league it's gonna be amazing I just don't think they mesh any better than Kidd and Carter do but i'm sure there will be plenty of people that feel differently. Thankfully for Nets fans we will probably never have to find that out. Every person on that USA team is spoiled by the talent they played with the past few months but all of them realize that they have to get back to work and Kidd is returning to one of the better supporting casts from the whole group. Kobe and Kidd is one of the few hot stories on a team that is just steamrolling people leaving little newsworthy stories other than a bunch of highlights and im sure every word is being disected and analyzed because there's nothing else to write about.
