Kidd has been available for two years and the Nets have been actively trying to trade him for more than a year now.</div>
Difference being that now he publicly quit and his teammates now know it. As a team member it's gotta suck knowing your best player thinks his teammates suck and the whole thing is unsalvagable to the point he wants out.

As pissed off as I am I think most of us have been on a job where we just got disgusted with the whole environment and needed a change. It's all obnoxious and understandable at once. Except he has the ability and position to try and change things for the better on that team.

**** him... call the Lakers. Odom, Brown, Farmar and a pick for Kidd, Magloire and Allen.

Jason doesn't have to do that. (don't take this the wrong way VC fans) Jason is not Vince. He doesn't have to audition for other teams. Jason already has teams bidding for him. They know from his history what he can do. If this was VC yea maybe he would have to go out there and prove he still has it or is still a star but Kidd doesn't.

Also if he is traded what does a few wins do any way??? This team will already be on the road of rebuilding. Let's just make it official and this organization show that they at least have some balls.

The Nets have been Jason's bitch for how long. Putting up with his crying demands coaching changes player changes making us sign Zo and all the Wife drama.

If the Nets put up with this right here and allow Kidd to play then we already know they will get royal fucked in a deal.

Plus why risk an injury that could hurt his value at this stage? Teams may think they can screw us in a deal, but if management publicly say they are prepared to have him sit for the rest of the year then no one will try screwing around too much.

Could you imagine sitting a guy for the remainder of the season that was voted to start in the All-Star game? Ouch.

2 things. Make sure to trade Collins with him in any Kidd trade. I'm sure it'll probably piss him off to have to continue playing with the stiff.

2nd, i wouldn't mind letting kidd stay home the rest of the season even if he's not traded by the deadline. I want to see what marcus can do. We stink now anyway, let's at least see what marcus can do in extended minutes and at the worst, we play for a good draft pick.

kidd, collins and carter must go. thanks alot bald guys and tree trunk but you guys suck and we dont need you anymore

Kidd's a drama queen. The nets are currently tied for 8th in the Eastern Conference. Stringing together a 7-8 winning streak could get the nets enough momentum to climb as high as the 4th seed. With the west, there are currently 10 teams on pace to win 46 games and you could potentially end up on a team that wins 52 games and fails to get home court advantage. If Jason Kidd really put maximum effort into his performance, instead of the indifference he has shown over the past month, the Nets would be in a considerably better shape. Throw in a rehabilitated Krstic who returns to even 75% of the potential flashed before his ACL tear, and the nets are a contender in the conference. Granted the Nets may end up with another second round exit, but short of landing on the Mavericks, Suns, or Spurs, Kidd wouldn't get out of the first round in the West.

lmao

Would be neat if Marcus gave us a playoff push once Kidd is traded.

Collins must stay! I want his 6 million expiring contract next year.

Collins will be a Net for about 363 more days then we'll move him for a player at the deadline...6 million expiring contract = NICE!
Carter is here for at least the rest of the season, RJ isn't going anywhere.

Only Net fans would turn Kidd's baby-ass ****-you attitude into a referendum on Collins.

haha hey I didn't bring it up! Although I will say that trading Kidd sheds a different light on our players, and allows them the opportunity to be seen with newfound advantages and disadvantages.

Everyone knows what he is capable of though. Kidd gets some rest which is good for the team we are dealing him too.

Kidd's value is as low as it can go unless he actually got hurt.

If we're trading Kidd, we're rebuilding, so why not get to going and start Marcus asap?

We can't bench Kidd for a few reasons:

1) Absolutely nobody on the team will play hard if they know Kidd is riding pine. Maybe Marcus and old man Armstrong will, but you all know for a fact that the young guys in the middle feed off of Kidd.
2) Kidd is in a tough position with his agent breathing down his neck to get a huge contract from the next team, but that doesn't mean he doesn't want to play.
3) No organization in this situation is going to make a stand like benching Kidd after seeing what happened to Philly. Look at what rebuilding has gotten them. Who the hell goes to 76ers games?? Less people than Nets games.
4) I traded LaMarcus Aldridge and Deron Williams to get Kidd (and Gooden). I also have Jermaine Oneal and Shaq. This is NOT happening.

It gives us slightly better position if we at least keep the pretense that if the right trade doesn't come along than we'll wait for next year...I mean we are only 1/2 game out of the 8th seed...2 games out of the 7th and 5 out of the 6th seed...that's still withing reach. Just cause Kidd wants to be traded doesnt mean we have to.

ummmm so we keep a super star who has given up and who will give a half ass effort while others are giving full???

F dat sit his ass.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (footswalker @ Jan 28 2008, 07:21 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>Too bad they didn't make the trade last year. They probably could have gotten Farmar and Odom. Instead, Thorne insisted on Bynum, and now they are going to get nothing but stiffs and scraps for one of the best pure point guards of all time. Nice work, Rod.</div>

Lakers were offering Kwameeee Brown and V- Rad + Farmer for Kidd last season, they balked w/ Bynum and almost did part w/ Bynum but Kupcakes finally thought it out instead of listening to Kobe. Thorn did the right thing last season and the season came down to Wince Carter screwing up a beautiful possible thing in the playoffs.

I'm just saying if you send him home we're absolutely put in the worst possible scenario in terms of trade leverage...I mean we don't want to get completely raped in this trade do we?

I think the 76er scenario had more to do with that idiot (and since fired) GM Billy King, than it did PR strategies.

and if we let him play. What does that say about us. You can say whatever and it's accepted?? This team organization needs to man up seriously. The truth is we are going to get rape either way. He has come out and said he doesn't want to be here. Name one trade involving a super star that fair value was given after they stated they wanted to leave???

The only thing to do now is to try to put us in a good position for the future. IE: Hornets Magic and Pistons

I'm actually a little upset, I'd rather see vince go to another team because i'm tired of watching the nets play. They're not going anywhere anytime soon unless they get a dominent player like tmac or shaq.

no not true because alot of teams would love Kidd to move a PG who is really a combo to the bench role and strengthen the floor balance ...

example..if the Lakers really think about it the need a PG

Kidd to LA

this would make them balanced when Bynum returns, Kobe is happy w/ Kidd, Ariza becomes a starter, Fisher goes to what he should be a 6th man, NJ would recieve Walton high I.Q. SF, Javaris talented combo guard who can ball, Lamar who needs a change of scenary and would be a good gamble in NJ and Sun Yue a talented foreign big who could be something.

another scenerio to Golden State wha.... yup never count out GS getting into a 3-way

Denver would also be an option I don't think Dallas is unless they get a 4-way or 3-way

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>get a dominent player like tmac</div>

T-mac dominant? Not only is he injury prone, but his ass has never been out of the first round. And Shaq? He is no where close to what he used to be. If he manages to step on the court, it still won't mean the Nets will get far.

dint the nugz offer Iverson for Kidd? Thats sound the best for us but the nets want young ppl and expring contracts, I would think they would offer Nene but hes got that big cancer problem I think. So then theres Camby, but hes old and it would mess up theres defense. But that would also make us a better defensive team.

The Lakers dont have enough to offer if there not gonna give up bynum or maybe we could get Bynum in the deal if we include Boone or Sean??

The only team that makes sense is Dallas, cant wait to see Devin Harris, Tarry, or Stackhouse soon......

not a chance in hell, have you seen what Bynum's been doing this season ?, Harris is out 2 to 3 weeks who knows but they would have to add a draft pick to make it work for NJ.

this is the best type of deal imo Kidd proposed deal

I'm with Killa...make him ride the pine till he gets out of Jersey.
