The article is mainly about Alonzo Mourning comeback. But in the article is also indicates that Jason Kidd may be out till December. And even though this is all speculation and he's doesn?t have definite timetable for his return, this is most likely the case. Now, I think it?s safe to say that Nets are in deep trouble. There is no way possible Jefferson and a questionable Alonzo Mourning will be able to carry this team.

If Zo can play and recovered, I hope he can come back, at least , he is better than Collins...

Guys, don't count Nenad Krstic out. He did well against Yao Ming...he didn't do spectacular, but he did good enough to play a starting role on the team this year, and if Mourning has problems, try Krstic...

Jefferson is going to have to play like Jordan, and I doubt that'll happen. I like him, but he's not good enough to carry a team on his shoulders. Good luck, Nets.

this is a reallly hard blow for the nets in my opinion. i believe they shouldve traded kid when they could. i mean klet the man go get a ring. its going to be really horrible if the nets end up being stuck with an aging guy that cant play as he use too in kidd.

i mean like if he was to come back like webber. which that still doesnt matter because kidd is aging. and i dont see how he can help the nets orginization int he future with knee and age wearing on him

This ran across my mind when I first posted in this thread, but I just didn't wanna say anything since I'm not a Nets fan. Just figured I'd be flamed for assuming that...but it does make sense. Duncan had knee surgery if I'm not mistaken, in 2000...I remember the Spurs losing to the Suns in the playoffs, and they were without Duncan. I think he had knee surgery near the end of May of 2000, and it took him about six or seven weeks to recover.

Kidd supposedly had his knee surgery on <u>July 1st or 2nd</u>...so he should be near recovery, I would think...not missing games until December

This could all work for the Lakers... The Lakers can get Kidd who will eventually be healthy, get rid of some ppl, NJ gets rid of big contract. Were all happy. lol.

It doesnt look good for the Nets IMO,they have some holes to fill and now losing J Kidd for a month isnt good,this team will most likely have a slow start,and RJ is going to have a big load on his shoulders for the whole season.

This doesnt come as much shock to me to be honest.... Allan Houston had similar surgery last offseason and he missed alot of games last year for the Knicks. It takes along time to fully recover from this type of surgery. I just wish we would have signed a more productive point guard then Jacque Vaughn because he is a smart point guard in the sense he doesnt turn the ball over much and he has a high basketball IQ. But he isnt going to produce much. I dont know if him and Zoran can hold down the point rotation until Kidd comes back.

I dont think Kidd is delaying his comeback to force a trade. There just isnt much reason for him to rush back from injury this season. He probably shouldnt have came back late in the 2nd half of last season because that just added further pressure to the leg adding to the injury. But this year the Nets are probably a .500 team at best even with a healthy kidd, so I rather him take a slow recovery to make sure he is 100% for the future.

And please Laker fans there isnt going to be any LA/NJ trades for Kidd, you have nothing to give the Nets as far as future talent. Everybody keeps associating the K-Mart Denver situation with what the Nets will do with Kidd. The situations were totally different, Denver held all the playing cards in that deal because they were going to get Martin whether the Nets took the draft picks or not. So the Nets had to settle but trust the Nets will be looking for more then draft picks or just expiring contracts for Kidd.

Anyway, most off the offense was expected to go thru RJ this year anyway. So I mean I think we were already adjusted to the fact that the Nets will probably go as RJ goes this year. RJ carrying the load we be good for his developement, even if its a rocky road as far as wins & losses. Its time for him to spread his wings and get a full chance to be the go to guy, we seen this somewhat during the 2nd half of the year last season.

I'm a big Nets fan, but personally I really hope the Nets suffer without Kidd, so they could realize what great players they could've kept.

I defintely agree with you on the fact that RJ's lack of a jumpshot is defintely putting a strain on his overall game. But most of RJ's game is pretty good other wise. He can create shots for other people off the dribble, He is a good wing defender, a solid wing rebounder. And he doesnt turn the ball over as much as he did in the olympics.And his jumpshot actually is better then he showed on the dream team as well. But your right it still clearly isnt where it needs to be for him to reach his full potienial.

But I think that he will do fine as our go to guy next year. We wont win a ton of games, but no one is expecting us too. Next year is an experimental/ developmental year for the Nets basically. So while we may struggle in the win column under RJ. He will be gaining the need experince of carrying this team. Which he is expected to do in the many years to come. And his jumpshot will come with time.

On Mike and the Mad Dog, right after the game 7 loss to the Pistons, Rob Thorn made it clear that the offense would be ran thru RJ this year.And this was before anyone knew how long Kidd would take to recover.And even before Martin was traded to Denver. So its been pretty clear for a while that the Nets have their future banked on RJ's development. Its just that he has been ask to carry more of the load much sooner then some expected due to this offseasons occurancies.

that us true he did have it about july. but like you said in your last post he is a aging man and the league did put his body through hell. I honest think he should rest and let the other play that they just got get worked into the teams offense which ever that maybe. Then when he comesback if he plays really well for the first 2 months after coming back from surgery then package trade him with Zo. So these guys can get their ring. They both deserve it. Kidd can almost make any team look good and he has done it through the years. and zo for just coming out in the wrong time when the jordan era was here and not having enough talent to contribute to a championship

Yeah...being a Laker fan, I'd still like to have him, and it wouldn't be a huge role for him to play really, considering he's got two healthy stars to play with in Kobe and Odom. Hell, Kidd is a passer in my opinion, and he could take jumpers all he wants in Los Angeles. He wouldn't need to slash to the rim, because we already have guys that will do that. Penetration by our players, then kicking it out to an open Kidd would definitely be a threat to any defense...and it wouldn't be hard on Jason's knee. Zo would even fit well with the Lakers also...

RJ's jumpshot gets better and better every year. He'll always be streaky. If he can average 20-25 for them they have a chance till Kidd gets back.
