I'm sure that if you ever get to watch AJ Milan, Montepaschi Siena or Roma actually play a few times, you'll find that their team defense is on levels that some NCAA teams will never reach. With NBA prospects joining and leaving college teams yearly, their team chemistry (biggest key to good team defense) can never reach Euroleague levels. Many European teams contain the same players on the roster for years. Not to mention the fact that the teams in the Euroleague are at least level with top NCAA teams, if not better. I'm not implying that Euro teams play unbreakable defense, but you're underrating them, without giving any reason as to why.

It's not about the players as much as what the teams emphasize. Example- you put Bruce Bowen on last years Suns team and he is not the same defender as he is with the Spurs.
My comment comes from the style they prefer to play. I think its pretty well know they mostly emphasize offense over defense.

Who the hell said that? Of course there are some players in the Euroleague that are superior to NCAA. My point was that overall defense is not a high priority for some Euroleague teams. I agree. Players make up a team, not the other way around. A coach's system can influence how a player performs, but the impact is negligible. That's why there's always such an emphasis on finding players that "fit" within a given system. There are lots of great individual defenders playing well in the Euroleagues (either coming from the NCAA or born in Europe), so clearly European teams don't completely neglect that side of the ball.

Logic stands that if how much you get paid depends on your team's performance, and everyone wants more money, you do whatever it takes to ensure your team wins as many games as possible.

I thought I was pretty clear... the style of play a team and coach have has more impact on the individual than the individual's skills have on the team. Spurs went after Bowen because they care about defense. You put Bowen on the Suns and they won't emphasize his defense. He'd probably be glued to the bench.
